Video shows David Seymour speeding, undertaking on Auckland motorway
Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour appears to have been caught speeding and undertaking a motorist on State Highway 1 in Auckland.
In a video posted to Reddit, an Act-branded car with Seymour’s face on it can be seen passing a fellow motorist from the left-hand lane.
David Seymour was caught speeding last week by a motorist who estimated he was driving at over 130kms per hour.
The ACT Party Leader laughed the speeding off, high fived his social media team and twerked a response to the NZ Herald.
To be fair on David, he had heard some young Māori were feeling a level of self esteem and he was racing to see if he could kick their identity down, so you can understand why he was driving so fast.,
We’re all laughing because it’s true.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

You can’t charge someone for speeding if you’re not legal authority to operate a speeding device detector so going by someone post isn’t legit however this clown has done far worse to NZ politics and economy that he needs to be held accountable for than a minor speeding infringement
Yes, Seymour is demonstrably guilty of much more serious things than this wannabe policeman driving in the wrong lane is accusing him of. I see that he wants to change the labeling laws for alcohol and tobacco, along with his constant attacks on the poor & Maori for a start.
Da Maaris need to be kept in their place and action man is the way and the light.
New Zealand in 2025. Where the deputy prime minister drives a Holden Malibu.
NZ drivers are not inclined to keep left. When there’s someone slow in the right-hand lane holding up traffic, it’s not an offence to pass them by using the left lane, in a laned area.
The Road Code used to say if you are not over-taking, keep left. Haven’t read it lately, maybe that’s changed.
It seems the person on the right-hand lane, who took the video, was doing a reasonable speed so Seymour’s impatience was more about him, not wanting to be inconvenienced and happy to exceed the speed limit by quite a bit. That is an offence.
Driving in such an obvious car made his actions doubly stupid.
What happened to the little Smart cars that Act used to use. Too slow? For those not familiar with Smarts, the regulated top speed for a Smart For Two is 160kph approx. Not showy enough? One has to be able to laugh at oneself to drive a Smart. If fact they are a lot of fun, like Minis.
Seymour has shown he takes himself extremely seriously. Everyone is an idiot except him and his hangers-on. None of them have a sense of humour.
Seymour seems unable to lead by example and is therefore a poor leader.
What amazes me about this incident is the advertising plastered all over the car.
Surely if you are a member of ACT it is best it remains a secret?
I mean do you want people to know your friends are Zelda, Bob the First, I’m right?
I bet Helen Clark’s laughing like a drain
True.
