Merciless blitz on starving Gaza — growing numbers
of dead and injured

69 more people killed and 422 wounded
Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 69 dead and 422 wounded bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 64,300. The total wounded is now at least 162,005. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 91 and, that of those injured, is more than 231. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children. Three more deaths due to starvation and malnutrition were recorded over the past 24 hours, bringing that total since the start of the Gaza blitz to 376, including 134 children.
To mark 700 days of genocide, Gaza’s health ministry released an updated breakdown of the death toll in Gaza: more than 19,000 children have been killed—among them over 4,800 under the age of five and more than 1,000 infants. For nearly two years, on average, a child has been killed every 52 minutes.
