Will Winston’s u-turn on wealthy migrants be NZF’s Epstein MAGA fallout?

As NZF hold their conference this weekend, the question is has Winnie gone too far even for NZF voters?

By allowing Foreign Multimillionaires to simply buy citizenship and property speculate is such an enormous walk back fro NZF and it highlights just how fucked and desperate this Government now is to generate anything that resembles economic growth, no matter the damage.

NZF voters are the worst of the worst. Anti-vaxx, Ant-Trans, anti-Treaty redneck lunatics who despise immigrants and are frightened by eclipses.

How the flying Christ cross burners like NZF voters are going to be able to align their hate towards immigrants and Winston u-turning on allowing rich foreigners to speculate in our property market is going to be as fun as MAGA acolytes defending Trump over the Epstein files.

What NZF desperately need now to gloss over this enormous change in anti-immigrant bashing is some really stupid idea.

  3. Winston has made a good call on this policy and while I have never been a supporter his performance in this government has been outstanding . I think his backers will u dersnd we need investment in the country to keep getting our pension

      See, thats the problem with your cargo cult mentality and tugging your forelock to people that YOU perceive as your better because they have money. You’re telling everyone that you’re a surrender monkey who is flat out of ideas.

      Given the evangelical bent of our current government, the phrase “to pray is to admit defeat” seems apt.

      As for “investment”, all they need to do is buy $5 million in government bonds (which are already oversubscribed) to gain this privilege. And then all of us can pay these “investors” their accrued interest when the bond matures.

      In return, a tradie and a cleaner may get some work… That doesn’t sound like an investment that is in our interests.

      Seems you’re just as clueless and craven as our current government.

    • Trevor his performance over the ferries was a fing disaster. All this bullshit about it being cheaper to pay penalties, waste all the money previously spent and have a lesser outcome. He’s been all over the place, on a number of issues. Just an old hack.

      The labour Party aligned website and their annoymous authors and editors want a Labour/NZF coalition, which has no hope of beating National.

  8. Winston has an almost Trumpian talent for avoiding responsibility.

    He has probably calculated that foreign buyers desperate to enter an exceptionally soft property market will be a trickle, not a flood. If Luxon can find any at all.

    Th rise of Farage may inspire him yet – and if ‘it’s the economy stupid’ still holds true, both major parties can expect punishment from voters. Things are hard out here, and the usual excuses won’t cut it when working folk can’t feed their kids, and retirees can’t pay their rates.
