NO WAY!
Māori wards: Rotorua Mayor Tania Tapsell criticises Hobson’s Pledge for using her image
Rotorua Mayor Tania Tapsell has criticised Hobson’s Pledge for using her image without permission in a social media post critical of Māori wards.
The post also used quotes from Tapsell, which she claimed were misrepresented to “mislead” people into believing she was aligned with the political lobby group’s messaging.
“You do not have my permission to use my image or comments to mislead the public that I support your campaign,” Tapsell said on Facebook in a response to the post on Hobson’s Pledge’s page.
Oh come on, twisting her words to legitimise the Klu Klux Klan of NZ politics is an audacity only white people can pull off.
Tapsell’s comments in context do not in any way shape or form line up to the cross burning, banjo twanging, redneck manifesto of Hobson’s Pledge, and they know that!
Why can’t Don Brash find any Māori mates to put in his bloody billboards?
Why this constant desire to steal Māori women’s mana to prop up their racist attack on the Māori Wards?
It’s such dirty, dirty, dirty way to fight.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Nah, Tapsell’s entirely on board with hating the maaris. She just knows that she’s already likely to lose the mayoralty in the upcoming election, and doesn’t want to sabotage herself further.
Hobsons Pledge have plenty of “maori” in their comments section supporting the garbage posted. Except they are all fake with profiles locked.
How is it going after Tapsell to quote her own words?
Because they were quoted out of context and missing the fore and after the conversation they were made in.
I mean, the ‘context’ is that she was 100% in favor of the anti-Maori attitudes of Hobson’s Pledge (for purely cynical reasons) until she saw polling and cynically changed her stance.
In any case, they didn’t get her permission. End of.
Nobody needs a politician’s permission to quote her own words.
She’s a politician; her public comments aren’t sacrosanct.
Don Brash, Richard Prebble, Roger Douglas, Derek Quigley. Why don’t they all just piss off and die.
She is a bit like potaka and the rest of the current government Maori MPs in that she is by Maori for the Pakeha doner class .So maybe Brash and the other white supremists thought she would not object .
She will be standing for National or even Act at the next election .
