Nothing seems to sum up where we are at as a country better than a returned gang patch and a sacked Bell ringer.
Turns out, that while the Government can ban the Gang Patch, they have to return the property!
Judge orders police to give seized Mongrel Mob patch back after ‘family crest’ plea
A district court judge has ruled that a Mongrel Mob member’s patch – seized by the police under the Gangs Act – must be returned to him.
The Gang Patch Ban is a virtue signal, Gang numbers and meth testing have both hit new highs and all it does is hide the problem and pretend that’s a solution.
Being forced to hand back the property is an exercise in pointlessness.
Not as pointless as spending $10m on Bells only to then sack the one person who can actually pull the bells…
Govt spends $10m to fix national war memorial bells, fires only person who can play
…how Absolutely, Positively, Wellington
You don’t know if you should laugh or cry.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

A cynic could think that a govt in the midst of war prepping doesn’t want to be reminded three times a week of all the dead from all the previous wars.

The Judge in the gang patch case mentions the role of abuse in state care in creating the gangs and recognises tikanga is part of New Zealand law.
Does it mean this stroppy member of the judiciary thinks he know better than police and politicians?
The defendant was walking down a street in the bustling metropolis of Taumarunui where all his neighbours could see and be terrorised by his gang patch. Masses of people were affected.
(presumably nobody in this town would know him and that he was a gang member but for his patch).
The police force of this major population hub were vigilant and seized the miscreant before he could further terrorise people( nice to know they have the time to cruise around looking for gang members).
Not for them the sissy option of saying ,’ you are not allowed to wear that in public. Go home and change’ or even (gasp) ignoring it.
The citizens of Taumaranui can sleep well at nights knowing they are securely protected from seeing a gang patch by local police who have their priorities right.
The soppy liberal who lives next door has the nerve to suggest that checking to see if people are wearing gang patches can be seen as harassment by police. As if that ever happens!
Just more shit policy from the COCs
