“Failure to act will have irreversible consequences”
UN Deputy Relief Chief tells Security Council on Gaza famine
Over half a million people currently face starvation, destitution and death. By the end of September, that number could exceed 640,000. Approximately 1 million people are in Emergency IPC Phase 4. And over 390,000 are in Crisis IPC Phase 3. Virtually no one in Gaza is untouched by hunger. At least 132,000 children under the age of 5 are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition between now and mid-2026. The number of those at risk of death among them has now tripled to over 43,000. For pregnant and breastfeeding women, that number is predicted to surge from 17,000 to 55,000.
Behind these stark numbers are human lives – daughters, sons, mothers and fathers. Futures cut short and communities scarred.

Yeah look Leslie I know I should be outraged but the Palestinians aren’t helping themselves by not releasing the hostages. They might have reduced the price but they would be wise to just release them. It would send a signal that their hostage taking days are over. It’s just another case of the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. They rolled the dice on 7 October and it’s turned to custard, own it.
‘Tubas – 12:10, Israeli settlers poisoned two cows, in the Khirbet Jabaris area of the North Jordan Valley.’
