72 more killed and 314 wounded
Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile–launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 72 dead and 314 wounded. The total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, has risen to at least 61,330 and the total wounded is at least 152,359. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 92 and, that of those injured, is more than 227. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.
Majority in USA oppose war on Gaza — 60% disapprove of Benjamin Netanyahu
A recent Gallup Poll showed that just 32% of Americans approve of Israel’s military action in Gaza: a new low. The majority of Americans — 60% — disapprove of the offensive, and, for the first time, a majority said they disapprove of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Such shifting attitudes were most prominent among younger Americans.

Occupation settlement development: Jenin – 10:00, Israeli forces, accompanied by Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich and settlers, invaded the ruins of the Tarsala site, near the Sanur Occupation settlement, with the aim of returning the settlers to the site, which was evacuated in 2005.
Israeli Army Occupation settlement development: Nablus – 22:00, Israeli Occupation forces, in the village of Salem, bulldozed land near Beit Furik and the village of Beit Dajan, with the aim of enlarging a recently-established settlement outpost.
Israeli Army Occupation settlement land–grab: Hebron – 14:30, Israeli forces took over an area, south of Bani Na’im, with the aim of establishing a new settlement outpost, to the east of the bypass road between Bani Na’im and Yatta.

This letter marks a rupture in the military consensus. These are people who know the system from the inside: analysts, field researchers, linguists, tech experts, and cyber operatives. And they are saying what many understand but few dare to say: This war is not about rescuing hostages or defending Israeli civilians. It is about preserving a collapsing government.
