Well, well, well.
What do we have here?
Government forges ahead with foreshore and seabed law
The government is forging ahead with plans to change the law governing New Zealand’s foreshore and seabed, despite a Supreme Court ruling last year that appeared to undercut the rationale for the change.
The proposed legislation stems from a clause in National’s coalition deal with NZ First, which promised to revisit the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act.
That commitment was driven by fears that a 2023 Court of Appeal decision could have made it significantly easier for Māori groups to win recognition of customary rights over parts of the coastline.
The government introduced a bill to Parliament last year to prevent that, but it hit pause in December after the Supreme Court effectively overturned the earlier ruling.
At the time, Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith welcomed the development and said ministers would take time to reassess their plans.
On Tuesday, Goldsmith confirmed to RNZ that Cabinet had agreed to press ahead with the law change regardless and to pass it before October.
“Everybody in New Zealand has an interest in what goes on in the coastline, and we’re trying our best to get that balance right.”
You lying prick.
You will all remember how last year I pointed out that these changes were nothing to do with legal order and everything to do with Fishing Industry Interests!
Two Ministers caught red handed conspiring with corporate interests to gut indigenous rights
This week two Ministers, Paul Goldsmith and Shane Jones were caught out colluding with corporate seafood interests to strip Māori customary rights down to a mere 5% of the coastline in a move that makes Helen Clarks seabed and foreshore confiscation look measured and reasonable!
…that’s right, Jones and Goldsmith were busted last year telling Industry they intended to do this to ensure Industry Interests gutted indigenous interests!
Treaty Negotiations Minister defends 5% of coastline comment
Treaty Negotiations Minister Paul Goldsmith says his claim customary marine title will be reduced to 5 percent of the coastline was just part of “free-flowing discussion” and not based on any analysis.
Goldsmith made the comments at a private meeting with seafood industry representatives in May, which was also attended by Oceans and Fisheries Minister Shane Jones.
Notes from the meeting – which was officially about the industry’s concerns about lack of a voice in debate about the customary titles – show Goldsmith spoke about the effect he expected the government’s approach would have on the amount of coastline affected.
He said it “should reduce the 100 percent of coastline subject to Customary Marine Title to 5 percent”.
They were caught on record boasting to the Fishing Industry that they would gut Māori customary fishing rights (an industry that donates to NZF and National BTW) and lo and behold, they are gutting Māori customary rights.
How are you so easily manipulated by the right when all they need to do is trigger your anti-Māori bigotry as a means to empower corporations?
Look at what Jones has just gifted the fishing industry FFS…

…how bitter are you towards Jacinda, the Trans Community, Māori and vaccines for all of this venal corruption to be acceptable to you Kiwi?
Prostrating yourself to corporations is ugly and beneath your mana.
Wipe your chin and get off your knees Kiwi.

We’re on your wavelength..
I don’t consider myself a lefty. I guarantee there’s plenty of old school National types who think this government are an embarrassment. Race baiting, economic disaster specialists, who don’t seem to have a clue or are just too tied to money to act in this country’s best interests(with the odd exception).
Project 2025 our current govt is fully invested in advocating the globalist agenda the VP of the USA is a member of the Heritage Foundation that developed their policies in 2021 ready for the Trump administration.
