89 more killed and 467 wounded
Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 89 dead and 467 wounded. Civil Defence crews retrieved nine more bodies from underneath bomb-damaged property, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 59,676. The total wounded is now at least 143,965. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 90 and, that of those injured, is more than 219. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

“85% of Gaza’s population have entered the ‘fifth stage’ of malnutrition — the most critical and dangerous phase, which is often irreversible even if food becomes available in the future,” says Palestinian reporter @anasjamal44. Palestinians are now collapsing in the streets and dying of hunger because the Israeli Government refuses to allow in food, water or medicine. And the limited food distribution points are increasing sites of massacre, with Israeli forces firing at Palestinians lined up for food, reports Palestinian photojournalist @AbdSabbah91.
Israel bombs Gaza City school with US-made missile
The school was sheltering thousands of displaced Palestinians in Gaza City.

An Israeli airstrike on the Cairo Elementary School for Girls in Central Gaza City, sheltering thousands of displaced Palestinians on Friday, killed at least five people and wounded 22, including several children. Many of the displaced in the school are from areas in northern Beit Hanoun, which has been nearly completely destroyed and emptied by the Israeli military. So far, Israel has not published even a perfunctory justification for the strike and the Israeli military did not immediately respond to questions submitted by Drop Site about the attack.
