FamilyBoost: Just 153 families getting maximum $75 weekly childcare tax credit
The Government says more than 60,000 families have received a FamilyBoost rebate, but Opposition questions have revealed only 153 have received the maximum credit.
Answers to written parliamentary questions from the Labour Party show that as of July 9, 153 had received the maximum sum in each of the four quarters the scheme had been open, therefore getting the maximum benefit of the tax credit.
A higher number have claimed the maximum amount in multiple quarters, but not in all four.
FamilyBoost is a weekly rebate on a family’s childcare costs linked to how much a household spends each week on childcare.
Time and time and time again this Government tells you one thing, and then we find out it’s a fucking lie.
Suck it up right wing voters.
This Government lied about how many would receive the full $250 per fortnight tax cut (remember that chumps?)
They lied about how many people would gain the Familyboost $75 per week, the Government said 60 000, only 153 got it!
The Government does this again and again, they tell you one story and it turns out to be a lie.
They were trumpeting their Emergency Housing numbers and then went silent on how that has contributed to homelessness.
The Familyboost process is so obtuse and full of clawbacks that working mums and dads avoid it like the plague.

To be fair, discovering National are full of shit on an issue is a bit like finding out the sun rises in the East. They’re masters of fudging the numbers and exploiting technical loopholes. “Well, yes, loads of families have received Family Boost payments, mostly a pittance, but they’ve still received them!”
It’s not an outright lie, but it’s an obvious attempt to paint a picture that is considerably less positive than we’re encouraged to believe it is. When you dig a bit, you’ll always find some grubby little weasel-word get-out-of-jail-free card.
Of course, when the numbers are REALLY bad, they just refuse to release them at all. Or resort to blaming the previous government.

According to a relative who works with the ERO, boarding at Kings currently costs about $150.000.00 per year. An Olympic sized heated pool isn’t cheap you know.
