Merciless blitz on starving Gaza growing numbers

of dead and injured

Victims 19 20 July 2025:

130 more killed and 495 wounded

Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in another 130 dead and 495 wounded. Civil Defence crews retrieved 2 more bodies from underneath bomb-damaged property, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 58,895. The total wounded is now at least 140,980. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 90 and, that of those injured, is more than 216. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

West Bank

13-year-old boy in West Bank murdered by Israeli forces

Around 6:30pm on July 18, Israeli forces shot 13-year-old Amr Qabha from behind at least seven times in Ya’bad, a Palestinian town south of Jenin in the northern Occupied West Bank. When Amr’s father managed to reach him, Israeli forces beat him, tied his hands behind his back, and forced him to sit on the ground next to his son’s bleeding body. After 40 minutes, once the soldiers were certain Amr had died, they finally allowed an ambulance through to transport his body to a hospital in Jenin.

Amr is the 33rd Palestinian child to be killed by Israeli forces in the Occupied West Bank this year, and not a single Israeli soldier has been held accountable for killing them. From the West Bank to Gaza, Israeli forces are intent on destroying Palestinian childhood at all costs, in violation of International Law. As long as Israeli forces are allowed to kill and maim Palestinian children with impunity, children like Amr will suffer the consequences.

Leslie Bravery
Leslie Bravery is a Londoner with vivid World War Two memories of the Nazi blitz on his home town. In 1947/1948 His father explained to him what was happening to the Palestinians thus: “Any ideology or political movement that creates refugees in the process of realising its ambitions must be inhuman and should be opposed and condemned as unacceptable.” What followed confirmed this assessment of the Zionist entity a hundredfold. Now a retired flamenco guitarist, with a lifelong interest in the tragedy of what happened to the Palestinian people, he tries to publicise their plight. Because the daily injustices they suffer barely get a mention in the mainstream news media, Leslie edits/compiles a daily newsletter, In Occupied Palestine, for the Palestine Human Rights Campaign. These days, to preserve his sanity, he enjoys taking part in a drama group whenever possible!
