Defence Minister Judith Collins talks tough to graduating Army recruits as global tensions rise

The latest batch of New Zealand Army recruits has been warned to prepare for the possibility of combat as the world faces its most complex and volatile global environment in decades.

Minister of Defence Judith Collins weathered bitter gale-force winds to attend the graduation ceremony for 153 new soldiers who had completed an intensive 15-week training course at the Waiōuru Military Camp.

Ok, let’s just start by asking, what the hell is she wearing?

She looks like Darth Vader’s Grandmother.

It’s got a Gestapo meets the Handmaid’s tale vibe about it.

I think we can all agree, no one person should be wearing this much black leather.

As for the fur lining. Did she kill something with her bare hands and skin it herself?

Too many questions, not nearly enough answers.

Why is the Minister of defence telling recruits to be ready for war?

Don’t we meet each ANZC Day and solemnly promise the next generation we won’t throw their lives away needlessly into the mincer of war?

Yet here’s the Minister of Defence, dressed in the bear she killed, promising to send new recruits to the battlefront?

What does she know that we don’t know, other than how to tailor a Gimp suit from the carcass of a 6 foot grizzly.

She’s making these war promises while America is trying to hustle Australia into promising to go to war with China, before America has even declared war on China…

    Our boss – USA – wants war in China (on top of their wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East) so the rest of the Westie gang – the pacific chapter – is getting prepared. Unfortunately, war means dragging much needed funds away from public needs, putting us all further in line with the war machine heavy, public funding light, USA, meaning this is a double win for Yankland. War joins privatization is a means of fcuking over our economies. With a boss like this, who needs enemies!

  3. Well she is built like a tank…so military affairs might be her thing, the Russian style hat is hilarious given all the stick the Natzos give TPM’s Rawiri Waititi over his family stetson.

    Billions have been signalled for military spending by CoC while we have thousands of homeless and precariously housed NZers. Sod ’em, out they must go in 2026.

  6. I got the impression Judith was trying to impress Putin with that amount of fur! She was dressed like she was visiting Siberia! To be fair, Waiouru is kind of like New Zealand’s Siberia, but still!

  7. If America goes to war, we should let them have at it and stay well out of it. The fact they’re trying to prise quid pro quos from Australia over the sale of submarines should tell you everything you need to know about the current US administration. (Australia is paying for the fucking things, but America believes they get to add additional conditions to the sale.) They’re bloodthirsty war-hawks addicted to mainlining the revenue from arms sales, and war — any war, will keep those government contracts and increased quarterly earnings flowing. All countries should be treating the current American incarnation like they would a dog with rabies. Trump is a swivel-eyed loon and you never know when he’s going to bite you.

  8. War would be Judith’s Covid 19, a distraction from the CoC’s abysmal record. She would have her 15 minutes in the spotlight something she was so jealous of when up against Jacinda.

There’s a number of reasons the collective West is preparing for war within the next 5 years and to break it down to its most basic level is partly BRICS and the continuing global influence especially the silk road bypassing Western access to resources and Money. The US deficit is costing more in interest than they are getting in taxes and they need a reset, it’s important to remember the US only came out of the great depression only because of WW2 and their arm sales which led to a booming economy. “Socialist” Germany was a thriving economy and one of the best performing in Europe. WW2 was always Capitalism and later Communism VS Socialism.
    It’s interesting to note the following: National Socialism was responsible for the following, A crack down on pornography, corruption, usury, the worlds first 40 hour week, pre/post natal care, staff cafeterias, the worlds first anti smoking campaign and animal rights amongst many other things.
    From a historical perspective it does beg the question, what would the world have looked like under National Socialism? Capitalism is a system based of people being a source of profit and nothing else, they don’t give a shit about the suffering and misery caused and the East is now outstripping the West with the control of resources. War it is….
