Security Council briefing by Tom Fletcher, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, on the Middle East
New York, 17 July 2025
“Our mandate is also to advocate for international humanitarian law – not just to report to you on what we witness, but so that you, this Council, can take action. Even when those responsible would rather silence us.“
“Gaza’s soaring humanitarian needs must be met without drawing people into a firing line. Israel, as the occupying power, is obliged to ensure that people have food and medical supplies.“
“Let me remind this Council that the International Court of Justice has demanded that Israel take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance.“
“Settler violence is escalating at an alarming rate, and Palestinian communities are being displaced, injured and their property damaged. Each day this year, the UN has documented an average of four incidents of settler violence against Palestinians and their property. In June, 100 Palestinians were injured by Israeli settlers, the highest number in two decades.“

The group emerged in the wake of the ICC’s arrest warrants issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials, citing alleged war crimes committed between 8 October 2023 and 20 May 2024. The ICJ ruling that ordered Israel to halt its military offensive in Rafah to avoid harming civilians also provided a legal and moral impetus for the group’s formation.
In its inaugural meeting, members emphasised the need for collective action to defend justice, equality, and human rights. They declared their refusal to remain silent in the face of international crimes and affirmed their commitment to leading a coordinated legal battle in support of Palestinian self-determination and an end to the Israeli Occupation of Palestinian territory.

‘you can’t blame Israel.’ Well actually;
‘Alongside the Jewish majority and the Circassian minority, the Druze minority is required by law to serve in the Israel Defense Forces. ‘(Religious Freedom Druze. The Israel Project)
So logically if Israelis are entitled to slaughter Palestinians for being anti-Israel, Syrians are entitled to slaughter Druze for being pro-Israel.
Now I personally do not believe two wrongs make one right but then I am(thank God) neither Islamic maniac, nor Zionist Vampire.
The Israeli state had its beginnings in terrorism when Zionists killed Arabs, British Servicemen and it continues to wade in blood. The sickening thing is the way you revel in it.
Palestinian terrorism and Zionism are just two sides of the same coin. You are both murderers.
