“But if you vote Labour, you enable Māori Party and Greens”

Last week I wrote, ‘If you voted National, you are enabling ACT and NZF’, which saw an avalanche of panicked right wing Trolls screaming, “but if you vote Labour, you enable da Maares and da Bussy Greens’ as if that meant anything.

So let’s compare and contrast then:

National + NZF + ACT =

  • Anti-vaxx witch hunts
  • Donors interests strangling the common good
  • Pro corporation policy
  • Tax cuts for the rich
  • Privatisation policy for their donors mates
  • Culture War Revenge fantasies masquerading as social policy
  • Cuts to Public health
  • Road privatisation using orange cones to weaponise your impatience
  • Cuts to public transport
  • trashing the environment
  • Counter productive Tough on crime bullshit

Labour + Greens + Maori Party =

  • Real Community representation
  • Better public health
  • Better public transport
  • Better urban planning
  • Better environmental policies
  • Stronger outcomes for Māori, beneficiaries, renters, addicts, disabled community, the homeless and children in poverty
  • higher taxes on the mega wealthy

Look.

I am the first to point out how alienating our middle class Wellington woke activists have been with their cancel culture bullshit, but the wokies have all been beaten into submission and told to shut the fuck up. They are only allowed on Bluesky now where they can collectively scream alongside Emily Writes into the padded walls of their woke echo chambers and they will NEVER have the power they had in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020!

Once Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle had people laugh at their dogma, most Wellington Woke have no power over anything now (other than the vegan lunch menu of their weekly Kink Munch meeting), so sure they were a factor when they gained social media power last decade, but the contempt they generate anytime they raise their head above the Bluesky parapet keeps them impotent.

So, one side blow corporations and kisses rich prick arseholes, the other side are in it for the people.

I know what I want to enable, and it’s not fucking corporations!

If you vote National, you enable ACT and NZF malice.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Green and brown for me we need a dramatic shift toward a better society and government for the people .We dont need hate filled cash grabs for the rich pricks till every last cent is gone .

    • I agree. If there is a change of government, for better or worse labour will be less willing than the national party to let themselves be pulled in the more radical direction that their junior coalition partner(s) advocate for.

    • You’re correct, a vote for Labour is too close to being a vote for National so Green & TMP need to increase if we want any genuine progressive policies.

  2. Labour had 3 years of complete control and I do not think they did much in tye way of followingvyour list of Brownie points.
There was a lot of talk and review committees with appropriate Maori names and the public service was expanded to look like things were happening . Moves on public transport was good but despite millions spent no light rail system was started in Auckland. Was public health much better ? Child poverty was nearly as bad as 2017 when they came to power and homeless people were pushed into motels and forgotten . Little was done in regard to tax except offering to take GST off fruit and veg no CGT no wealth tax .
An opportunity to show how Labour could change all our lives was given and lost.

      Absolutely agree.
For me it was the Denial of radical medicines funding and Pharmac reform and the refusal to accept any of the 42 recommendations in thee welfare review report.

Those turned me off Labour for Good.

I joined the Greens in 2018 and have not regretted it one bit.

    • Trevor I honestly try to understand what you are on about but you are confusing.
You keep pointing out that Labour failed socialists when it was in government(Was public health much better ? Child poverty was nearly as bad as 2017 etc)
Is socialism what you want? Do you actually want governments to spend more on social welfare?

Because if it is why do you think the present government is any better, or will be any better?
If socialism is what you do NOT want then surely you should applaud the Labour party’s failure. Is this not so?
Or do you just like to whinge about stuff and the past Labour government is a handy target?

  3. Labour and the Greens respect democracy. The self-styled Māori Party does not. Waititi has a hero called Ibrahim Traoré. Probably not that normal a hero for someone you would vote for. Don’t fall down the hypocrisy blind alley by telling me Seymour‘s idols are worse. It won’t wash. So, sure vote Labour and Green but TPM need to be rejected with other extremists and enemies of democracy.

  4. Like rust – woke never dies. Just look at the current mixture of Labour, Greens and Maori policy positions – it will be 2017-2023 but with a supercharger attached to the back.

    • Its called governing for ALL not just a few .Governments job is to provide services for ALL not profits for 1% .A country is not a business it is a society .Until we let go of the growth at all cost and return to building a society where everyone gets a fair slice of the pie we are doomed to slide over the cliff .China will get us for free with out a shot fired .Just look at whats happening in the Pacific islands .We have just used them for a source of cheap labour for decades and thrown them a few crumbs every now and again and now we have extracted what we can we have turned to Asia as a source of cheap labour .Now we have not looked after them they are getting help from China and no bullets fired .Trump and his blood thirsty mates could learn a lot from China .Imagine what the middle east would look like had they used soft deplomacy instead of waging war .Everyone would be doing well and the whole place would be booming and it would have been way cheaper in the long term .

  5. Labour = ‘real community representation’? Orly?

They don’t want to know the community. Just like National.

  6. Obviously I don’t support enabling the Greens, but at least the Maori Party will keep those freaks in check.

  7. Labour + Greens + TPM

    missed from the above list

    + building boom
    + apprentices trained
    + necessary houses built
    + infrastructure development
    + support for business R&D
    + support for science
+ money in people’s pockets providing demand for the nations businesses.

Which add up to a vote for economic growth.

A vote for NAct is more stagflation.

  8. Maybe the type of thinking that continues to vote for the same thing as previously in the hope that ‘this time’ the failed nitwits of the past will magically work better than those awful whoever: could that be sized up succinctly in ‘the reiteration of platitudes and pretensions’.? That covers the situation don’t you think?

  9. And ACT will cost both NZ First and National with their destructive bills. Those affected will remember.

  10. persona, propaganda and persuasion. The left need to implant the idea of redistribution and fairness through public assets and public services, as the over-arching goal for the good of society, the economy and the environment.
