Māori Party and Green Party need to sit down for a hui to counter NZF

To ensure the Greens are not taken for granted by Labour, they need to be in talks with the Māori Party now for a joint agreement on bottom-lines when negotiating with Labour if they are successful in 2026.

The problem is the Māori Party’s ever growing list of radical positions that only benefit their definition of being Māori could open the door between NZF and Labour.

The anti-Māori Party/Pro NZF faction inside Labour see any association with the Māori Party as the kiss of death and believe a deal with NZF is preferable.

What the anti-Māori Party/Pro NZF faction inside Labour don’t comprehend is that for a NZF/Labour Government to work, it requires the agreement of the Greens and while the Greens were prepared to be a political gimp for Jacinda’s first Government, they will refuse point blank to be impotent for Winston’s benefit.

If Greens already have a working joint statement agreement with the Māori Party, that makes a move by Labour and NZF far less possible.

One must never forget that to get Labour to do anything mildly solution based requires bashing their head against a wall while screaming, ‘DO IT”.

Labour are the Party of incremental cautious nothings, to get them to take truly progressive policies  seriously is only possible if you directly force them to, that’s why they will always try to weasel out of doing anything meaningful with the support of NZF.

The Greens need to be talking to Māori Party now to prevent NZF from playing that card.

  1. Willy Jackson might be able to bridge the gap a bit with TPM. Will Hipkins swallow his pride and allow the best for NZ to happen, instead of just the best for himself?
A positive message needs to be out there from these 3 left parties to counter the negative lies from the CoC.

In Herald this morning Simon Wilson correctly says, Seymour has messed up everything he’s touched. His agenda is not a true and honest agenda for the good on NZders, therefore he’s creating havoc and calling it euphemistic names like reform of regulations, treaty principals etc.
Those of us with half a brain can see he’s an amateur pretending to be an expert.
His interference is the kiss of death for good results that benefit us.

The left needs to put their differences behind them, swallow a dose of humility and counter this harmful rubbish that the right serves up daily. Pointless waiting for Luxon to be a leader, won’t happen.
Come on the lefty leaders, forget your personal egos and show us what you are really made of, or,
    step aside.

And you couldn’t get a more joyous example of how this would work than the Jewish and Muslim New Yorkers who endorsed each other to defeat the Democrat and Republican corporate politicians.

“….to be able to have, you know, Jewish New Yorkers and Muslim New Yorkers be able to hear each other a little better, added something pretty special too.” Brad Lander

Now think Greens and Maori Party instead of Jewish and Muslim New Yorkers.

If we were able to translate this joyous example to the Aotearoa political scene, to the Greens and TPM to be able to hear each other a little better, would be to add something pretty special as too.

    I can’t wait.

And I suspect many other Green and TPM supporters are hungry for this too
