Trump’s Iranian bombing made things far more dangerous

Trump says he obliterated Iran, Iran doesn’t sound obliterated…

Middle East crisis: Iran delivered ‘heavy slap to US’s face’, says Khamenei as he threatens further attacks on American bases – as it happened

    • Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said his country “delivered a heavy slap to the US’s face” and that the US “gained no achievement” when it joined the war with Israel against Tehran. He added that Iran had access to “key” US bases in the region and could take action “whenever it deems necessary”.

    • Referring to US president Donald Trump, who had claimed to have “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear programme, Khamenei said that he “exaggerated events in unusual ways, and it turned out that he needed this exaggeration – anyone who has heard these words has understood that there is another truth behind these words”.

    • US defence secretary Pete Hegseth held a morning news conference to respond to an early leaked intelligence report suggesting US strikes against Iran likely put the country back mere months. President Donald Trump has insisted the US strikes delivered a “devastating” attack and that questioning his assessment of the strike was not only unpatriotic but also makes the pilots who dropped the bombs “very upset.”

    • Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile remains largely intact following US strikes on its main nuclear sites, European capitals believe, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. The newspaper, citing two people briefed on preliminary intelligence assessments, said European capitals believe Iran’s stockpile of 408 kilogram of uranium enriched close to weapons-grade levels was not concentrated in Fordow, one of its two main enrichment sites, at the time of last weekend’s attack.

…the reason Trump screamed and swore at Bibi is because Trump comprehends how thin the ice is here.

Iran still has 2000 ballistic missiles, many that are hypersonic and can cause far more damage than they have unleashed to date.

Sure Israel has destroyed 50% of their launchers but that still leaves 200 that can unleash a terrible price.

The reality is the air strike looks marginal at best and may have set Iran back a couple of months and they still have 400kg of highly enriched uranium.

The reason Trump was grovelling to the Iranians on social media and swearing at Bibi is because he at least understands the danger of a desperate and cornered Iran, which is really what has happened here.

Trump’s actions have clearly told the Iranian regime only a nuclear weapon will protect them from Israel and America.

Iran has been stripped bare for the Paper Tiger it has become, in the same way Russia has been exposed with its inability to beat the Ukraine.

All Russia have left is their nuclear weapons and the threat of those weapons. Iran’s threat to build a nuclear weapon alongside their proxies was their strategic position. Those allies have been wiped out, the Iranian military has been degraded and Israeli air supremacy guaranteed.

All Iran have left is a successful nuclear test and the threat they will launch to guarantee any defence from Israel now.

Trump knows that if he pushed Iran to successfully test a nuclear weapon, he will get blamed for it, and that’s what he most fears now.

  1. Russia & Iran are far from paper tigers, and the proof is in their ability to counter western aggression and inflict damage just look at Ukraine & Israel recently looks more like Gaza. And 2000 missile is a huge understatement Iran boost of possessing 30,000 missiles and has only fired off a fraction of their missile arsenal.

And what not being mentioned and I pick this up on Ben Morgan post where he says, ” closing the Strait of Hormuz would impact on China that relies on oil from the Persian Gulf.” what he doesn’t mention is the completion of the new rail project in May 2025 from China to Iran. The new rail route shortens the delivery times for Iranian oil exports and helps China evade the Malacca Strait choke point.

The project has its genesis in the USD 400 billion economic agreement inked between China and Iran in 2021 as part of Beijing’s Belt and Road initiative. Both Beijing and Tehran share a strategic view to undermine US global hegemony, and both have encountered tensions, sanctions, and pressures originating from Washington.

The USA backs the India, Saudi, Bahrain, UAE project called IMEC India Middle East Corridor. The war in Gaza and its fallout have stalled plans for the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor, or IMEC. But this grand US-led connectivity project to link the EU and India via the Gulf can still happen – and it can serve the geopolitical goals of all its participants but what standing in its way is the Gazans and the BRI.

With IMEC, the US and the EU aim to draw India closer and counter Chinese influence. The corridor would provide a boost to India’s strategy to escape encirclement by Beijing and become a leader among developing countries. The UAE and Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, embrace IMEC as part of their push to become an economic bridge between East and West.

  2. Whenever Iran and Russia act with restraint, in ways that the murderous Shock and Awe carpetbombing Civilised West would, they are called paper tigers.

Dont fall for the Western racism. Since the fall of the USSR we are the definitive bad guys, due to Neocolonial Triumphalism, the seeds of which lay in how Neocolonial Imperialism continued after WW2, under the cover of the Cold War.

  4. Iran going nuclear, or not, is neither here nor there. Regime change, installing a puppet govt in service to the US is the end goal here. Emboldened by their recent installation of a puppet regime in Syria, they gave Iran a twirl why they were at it. Not successful this time, but the nuclear issue may be used again as the pretext for initiating Govt change in Iran. Iran is a vital chess piece in the battle between BRICS and the US empire. Take out Iran and both China and Russia are weakened. Regime change is the game here, whether it be under Trump or whomever comes after him.

  5. Do face reality Gaby, kindly explain why Israel stated a missile hit in Tel Aviv was first caused by an errant missile from the iron dome and the next day it was the iron sieve didn’t detect Iran’s hyper sonic missile. Care to explain how Israel was the first to accept the ceasefire and when was the last time Israel called it quits first?

  6. I think that the US has ensured that the next war in the Middle East will not have a nuclear component. I am less sure about the one after that.

    • How his mission was not that much of a success .He is shitting his pants because he knows the madman of Israel is just itching to use his 80 nuke stock pile and what the fall out would be from the rest of the world .No one stock piles that many with out the intention of using them at some time .

  7. The great thing about the “ceasefire” is that Ben Gurion airport can reopen allowing the huge emigration of Israelis to continue. Anybody with half a brain is leaving that benighted excuse for a country.
