Australia hasn’t sent 100 troops to Ukraine. The Wedgetail aircraft (which the 100 relates to) will almost certainly be deployed in Poland and will fly within Poland’s or other Nato nations boundaries.
The Wedgetail radar system has a range of many hundreds of kilometres. It will help detect incoming Russian missiles and drones. The Wedgetail radar will directly send its information to Ukraine air defence command. In effect the capability of Ukrainian air defence will be hugely increased by this additional and very high tech radar capability.
To use a very old fashioned analogy, in the Battle of British, Fighter Command used radar and visual observation to plot incoming attacks in Fighter Command HQ. Then they vectored fighters to intercept the German aircraft. These days this is all done electronically, using Link 16 or 22, so that all observations from whatever platform (radar, satellite, radio intercepts, etc) are seamlessly integrated. This means Ukrainian air defence command can manage their intercepts as efficiently as possible.
The earlier that the missiles and drones are detected, the easier it is to destroy them.

Luxon spouts about growth .We had 6 years of growth and now we think 0.8% is growth when inflation is really close to 3% so in reality we have 2% loss .
Growth is a figment of his imagination .NZ is just like air nz was under his watch a bloody plane crash .Remember the failed takeover of Virgin Aus .23 million loss there ,and the new planes he ordered that have been grounded for years and are parked in the Aus desert because we cant get engines .Great bussiness skills right there .The only growth he has under his government is the growing numbers in poverty and the squeezed middle moving down to become bottom feeders .
