Israeli drones and tanks fired on thousands of Palestinians near an aid centre, official says
Gaza’s Civil Defence agency said Israeli forces today killed more than 50 Palestinians near an aid centre in the territory’s south, the latest such incident amid severe shortages after more than 20 months of war.
The war since October 2023 between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas has ravaged the Gaza Strip, with shortages of food, fuel and clean water.
Civil Defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP that at least 53 people were killed and some 200 wounded as thousands of Palestinians gathered to receive flour near an aid centre in the southern city of Khan Younis.
“Israeli drones fired at the citizens. Some minutes later, Israeli tanks fired several shells at the citizens, which led to a large number of martyrs and wounded,” he said.

All of it adds up to a people whose own tragedy of the Holocaust has warped and mutated them into defending what they are doing in Gaza and the West Bank.
The disgust anyone with a conscience feels at what the Israeli Government is doing forces any moral being to turn away from any cultural, economic or academic interaction with Israel.

When a people are prepared to justify such horror for their own sense of security, that people become forever damned by such cruel math.
The Palestinians are paying a terrible price in bodies and limbs for their resistance to Occupation, but is the State Israel that has burnt its own soul.
Even if Netanyahu manages to kill every Hamas member in Gaza and the West Bank, even if he cleanses all those places from Palestinians, the price will be more than any of them can pay.
Even if Israel ‘wins’ they will have lost so much that any sense of ‘victory’ will be bitter ashes in their hollow mouths.
When you oppress a people, the oppression doesn’t just change them, it damages you too.

But of course you do. Your a tank commander watching thousands of starving unarmed civilians within easy range … come on. What are you going to do? You are highly trained and you’ve waited years for this moment to finally let loose. It takes some balls – most military personal struggle with targeting civilians – but clearly not all do. The IDF’s civilian kill rate is off the charts. Not even civil wars in Africa can match them.

It may be about 1948 but it is relevant today. It shows the ‘cleansing’ of Arabs was planned as long ago as 1940 and is a permanent feature of Israeli policy.
It includes candid statements from European Jews and veterans of the fighting. Hana Keller, Uri Avnery, Josef Ben-Elizier, Yoram Kaniuk. They admit that fleeing Arab refugees were robbed of their money and valuables. Refugees were shot when they tried to return to their homes and military commanders who protested were removed.
Absolutely nailed it. What happens when this stops and the rush of blood to the head dissipates and the collective memories of civilian massacre of unprecedented scale come more clearly into view.

It’s very hard to have any empathy for Israel as now all of sudden, in the media, ordinance killing civilians in Tel Aviv is horrific. Doesn’t seem to matter in Gaza.
Have to wonder at the Israeli’s outrage at the Iranian’s shelling one of their hospitals. After destroying every hospital in Gaza and denying it was a war crime. The hypocricy is sickening.
