Labour’s ‘worst nightmare’: New Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour takes swipes at opponents

Seymour described his party as Labour’s “worse nightmare” and New Zealand’s “best hope”.

The Left in NZ have horribly underestimated David Seymour and I’ve watched him use culture war political ammunition that our woke identity politics activists handed him to gain the power he now has, but it isn’t the Left who should be most fearful of Seymour, it’s National and NZF!

Social media hate algorithms have churned the electorate into an all tribe no village political landscape where polarisation and culture war revenge fantasies gloss over the corporate interest behind the scenes.

ACT’s unbridled abuse campaign and libertarian wet dreams appeal not to the Left or the under vote, they appeal to NZF and National voters.

ACT’s true danger is to National and this election ACT could easily climb into double digits with their reactionary rhetoric and naked greed.

The problem for the Right is that while ACT will cannibalise National and NZF vote, middle National voters will flee to Labour and those 200 000 pay parity workers who don’t bother voting suddenly have a reason to now.

ACT will continue to devour National vote as Luxon looks weaker and weaker.

ACT lashing out at Labour should frighten Luxon, not Chippy.

  1. Its all a set up, ACT are nothing more than National Party attack dogs. Under the present MMP system the best ACT can do is where they are now. Luxon is so weak and politically naive that he will just accept that the vote being split between ACT and National is “reality” but he will still be the CEO.

    • Yes …agree.

And Seymour and Van Velden are so stupid that they actually believe their own press..

How does the saying go.. ‘Self praise is no recommendation.’

At the end of the day 92 % of the population did not vote for Act.

There will undoubtably be an early election and Seymour will be gone… for good…bye bye and good riddance to that useless money sucking burden on the taxpayer.

He is the very thing that he accuses nearly everyone else of being!

      • Yes Phil and Grant, but not sure about an early election as it would have to be triggered by NZF and they are unlikely to do it as hit or miss if they get back in again. Winston will just tolerate whatever Seymour delivers. Act will not trigger an early election and not will National.

  2. It’s all competition. Fighting for supremacy over New Zealand. It shows up as Politics v Sport in the media. Which can be most popular? The boring correctness of serving the people who are paying you to do so is old-fashioned and doesn’t rate much media coverage.

Good birthday King Charles. You have grappled with limiting old rules and absurd behaviours to free yourself for years of stable, happier life. May we be able to get through our shackles, and draconian entanglements and find a way to live happily and manage our lives and our country as best for all the people without unreasoning and crippling rules.

  3. I don’t see any place for the bulk of ACTs policies. Their flagship ones are bullshit and purely designed to advantage a very select few. Left or Right common sense should be enough to say F off to ACT.

    • I certainly hope so and there’s not much support for ACT among people I know but I also know of a wider group that for some reason get excited by Seymours toxic ideas so I’m not making any predictions. If he lasts the next 18 months with Winston I will be surprised though.

  4. Act have a lot of people who voted for them last election that will never vote for them again .They may pick the hard racists from NZF who will be gone next time .I live in a rural area and there are no one I know that will vote that way again as they are disgusted with the division they have bought to NZ .

  5. Yes…the latest Talbot Mills poll shows that Luxon ,Willis and Seymour’s management of the economy has created the worst pessimism in over 30 years.

They have managed this in just 18 months and it’s all down to their own hubristic stupidity.

The taxpayer majority will not continue lining the bank accounts of these useles egomaniac leeches.

They should be permanently banned from N Z. politics for being so utterly
    uselessly incompetent.

We just can’t be tolerating this garbage. The trash gets to go!

  6. It might be true, but it’s hard to fear someone who looks like Mr Bean on MDMA.

Certainly Cmore is smarter than Luxon, but there are crawling things in my garden that are smarter than Luxon.

Time to start building guillotines – it’s tough on the tigers, who deserve livelier prey, but guillotines are something no-one in the coalition has ever been – efficient.
