The National Party of NZ - stealing today what tomorrow never brings!

You’ve gotta hand it to Nicola Willis, girlfriend just wants it more!

She took $12billion out of the pockets of the workers and put it into the pockets of the bosses while looking us all in the eye as she did it!

Not figuratively, not metaphorically but LITERALLY stole from the poor to give to the rich.

She wants to defy economic gravity by turning trickle down into trickle up!

This budget is like a mix of anti-Robin Hood and anti-Midas, in that it robs from the poor to give to the rich and everything it touches turns to shit!

There are of course winners and losers.

WINNERS:

Bosses: It is money from heaven time for huge businesses with an uncapped 20% of everything fire sale (funded by Pay Parity workers). Small and medium business don’t have the cashflow to utilise this but giant corporations do, so while it’s sold as helping small business, it will really be corporate welfare for the same companies they are giving fast power consent to.

Private Health: Gain extra funding to keep 24 hour clinics open while still charging everyone $200 a pop.

Private Education: This Government is shovelling millions more into Charter Schools effectively subsidising a neoliberal education experiment at the cost of public schools.

National Party Donors: Will be skipping to the bank with their new $6billion slush fund (paid for by workers) while acknowledging that their donation to National/ACT/NZF was the best democracy they could buy.

Boot Camps: $30million for a right wing vanity project we all know won’t work.

ATLAS Network and NZ Initiative: Most of this policy is theirs. They should charge for copyright infringement!

LOSERS:

Fourth Estate Journalism: $20 million less for RNZ so that RNZ can’t keep the pricks accountable.

Beneficiaries: Vicious new sanctions that take place the millisecond their new AI social investment algorithm suspects you of a thought crime.

Food Banks: The pittance they’ve been given to run on will run out before any need is met. Ironically Food Banks are the only bank not making. profit yet are always in demand. The 500 000 NZers relying on food banks every month just got told to go on a diet.

Renters: If you have a Boarder helping to pay the rent, National just crushed that loophole and you’ll be getting $100 less in your housing allowance. Thank you National!

Workers: $12billion out of the pockets of the workers and put it into the pockets of the bosses. The C word is totally justified.

Environment: It’s almost as if National don’t believe climate change is even happening…

Minister for the Environment missing in action in Budget 2025

“Not only is there no new funding in Budget 2025 for environmental protection, but they’ve taken cuts further than we even thought possible. They’ve raided the waste levy and initiatives which were designed to provide at least some basic level of protection for te taiao.

…National’s solution to climate change seems to be, ‘More cows’.

Māori: They just lost over the last 2 budgets, $1billion in Māori specific funding. So not only does Māoridom have to put up with all the race baiting legislation, they also have to put up with Tama Potaka as a Minister who’s only real claim is his ability to do push ups.

Paul Goldsmith: Goldsmith has a silver spoon so far up his arse he that he’s as tone deaf as gold bullion. Goldie’s decision to take a photo of Nicola Willis and Chris Luxon laughing it up with wine and posh food after these rick pricks had just robbed Moana to pay John Smith is Trump level cognitive dissonance.

Chris Bishop: What an easily triggered snowflake Chris Bishop has become! Jumping in to take offence on behalf of someone else is pure Outrage Olympics in the never ending race for the National Party to position themselves as the victim while they deliver kick after kick into the face of beneficiaries, pay equity workers, Māori, Pacifica, the Environment, renters and young people. The irony is that while Bishop is declaring this isn’t the 1950s, his Government is paying women like it is!

Children in Poverty: Their own analysis says there will be more children in poverty because of this budget. That’s about as large an abdication of responsibility as you are going to get really.

Public Education: All the Teachers just got told to go fuck themselves with pay parity knee capping.

Public Health: Won’t be funded well enough to keep up with population growth plus all the nurses just got told to go fuck themselves with pay parity knee capping.

Victims of State Torture: They purposely went against the wishes of the victims by ensuring their cruelty never finds justice.

Pacific Island Ministry: Just lost $36million because you know, David Seymour joked about blowing it up.

CONCLUSION

We knew it would be bad, but sweet Jesus this was so much worse than anyone imagined!

It was the Bully Budget!

It was the anti-Robin Hood Budget!

It was a War on Workers Budget!

Sanctions on teenagers on welfare, rising unemployment, more child poverty, less money for RNZ to keep this Government accountable, and $650Million less for Māori!

As Bernard Hickey put it…

Willis ‘goes for growth’ with slower GDP growth forecast, higher borrowing, less housing spending, lower KiwiSaver contributions & a net fiscal contraction of three percentage points of GDP

…the whole Budget is held together with hope and snot.

I think the Political Left in NZ have miscomprehended Nicola Willis and her Budget butchery.

Voters do not appreciate how much of a wide eyed free market NZ Initiative Acolyte that Nicola Willis is.

She believes as a matter of faith that if you cut back the state, the free market will step in and do the job cheaper.

There is no economic plan here because as far as the Minister of Finance is concerned, the savage cuts to public services IS the economic plan!

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. So we all have to pay $200 bucks or die if we get sick at the weekend or after 5pm weekdays .That money could build a new wing at nelson or dunedin or a new hospital at Kaitia or even open up Te Kuiti properly again instead of it being used to send old people to die .

  2. “She believes as a matter of faith that if you cut back the state, the free market will step in and do the job cheaper” – even though there is absolutely NO evidence for this happening. There is evidence for private entities “creaming” the market (no matter what it is) but nothing in regards overall being more effective or efficient – just more neo-lib twaddle that should stay in the 50’s with the Chicago School of Eco-disasters.

  3. Also it is why we need the green parties Health and ACC policies .
A health service fit for the 21st century not one designed for the 1970s / 80s.

    • Is that the policy where the State borrows billions to make dentists and doctors visits free baring in mind that even with the current high cost it can take weeks to see either. I am not saying it is a bad idea but it shows how out of touch Greens are with reality.
Having just gone through the public system for cancer treatment it was faultless at all levels . I know the system is not perfect but it never will satisfy all the wants needs of all.
Comparing the number of beds available now compared to years ago it must be noted how people are sent home much quicker than before.

  4. More bullshit from you im right I got two minor procedures done under Jacindas watch I got onto the waiting list and waited 3 months and had my needs met. Now under Nicoliar and the bald one I am going deaf can’t even get on a waiting list to see an ENT specialist this is what the CoC are doing to keep the waiting list artificially lower, people are being refused and being left to become acute. Oh, and the private hospitals are picking up money for jam to do some of the easy ops.

  6. Chris Bishop just putting up a smoke screen, a diversion from scrutiny of the budget. Oh look over here, not there. The guy dribbles like a wet fart.
