This Government has no vision other than ideologically amputating and privatising the State

The National Party of NZ - stealing today what tomorrow never brings!

We knew it would be bad, but sweet Jesus this was so much worse than anyone imagined!

It was the Bully Budget!

It was the anti-Robin Hood Budget!

It was a War on Workers Budget!

Sanctions on teenagers on welfare, rising unemployment, more child poverty, less money for RNZ to keep this Government accountable, and $650Million less for Māori!

As Bernard Hickey put it…

Willis ‘goes for growth’ with slower GDP growth forecast, higher borrowing, less housing spending, lower KiwiSaver contributions & a net fiscal contraction of three percentage points of GDP

…they are literally, not figuratively or metaphorically, they are literally taking out of the pockets of the poorest workers to put directly into the pockets of  the bosses FFS!

$12Billion from working women and men

$6Billion into the pockets of the bosses!

This isn’t ‘Trickle Down Economics’, they want to defy gravity and are demanding ‘Trickle Up Economics’!

This Government has robbed $2.7b each year from working women and men to pay for donors interests

I think the Political Left in NZ have miscomprehended Nicola Willis and her Budget butchery.

Voters do not appreciate how much of a wide eyed free market NZ Initiative Acolyte that Nicola Willis is.

She believes as a matter of faith that if you cut back the state, the free market will step in and do the job cheaper.

There is no economic plan here because as far as the Minister of Finance is concerned, the savage cuts to public services IS the economic plan!

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Simply robbing Peter to pay Paul? Looks like that. Responsible management we are told – we all benefit … well the ‘hard-working’ do, the so called ‘squeezed middle’. But we all know what this entails – after all around 50% have been voting for this kind of management, off and on, for decades, longer. Create the conditions for productivity and growth and the rest trickles down. Smoke and mirrors.

  2. New Zealand is a corrupt country and always has been, its just worse now under this government of clowns.
This fucking government are actually now our enemies, they are taitors of the New Zealand people, its treason.
We dont need govt to have another year in power every term, we need an upper-house/senate like Australia

  3. Muldoon would never have committed high treason against the New Zealand people like these rats do.

    • Well he did he scrapped the super scheme put in place by the kirk led government .Had he not done so we would no be arguing about the cost of retirement would we ,Every one retiring today would have a million in the kitty .

  4. A hodge podge budget from Nicorette Willicide, the wicked witch of the west. When she can’t work out what to do, yet she wants to look like she’s doing something, then it’s hodge podge, by adding a little more eye of newt (getting tough on teenage beneficiaries) and cutting back on the tongue of dog (income equity for women).
Meanwhile Lord Sauron Seymour of the Atlas empire, probably wanted to reclassify jails as social housing, and cut benefits of anyone still single with parents, forcing their parents to support them. Never mind that some parents would be well into retirement and relying on super. The dark Lord arguing that even Nicorette’s clamping down on teenage beneficiaries, would see some fathers in retirement having to unexpectedly support offspring again.
And the dark Lord probably wanted womens pay equity that has already been decided on, to be wound back, saving the govt even more billions. That would reduce the number of women supporting Act from single figures, to just Brooke.
But the dark Lord pointed out that he was generous, when he offered left over meals from his lunches in schools program, to the UN for famine relief. But was turned down when UN testing showed they didn’t contain enough nourishment to sustain life.
Only in this upside down reality, can the govt claim fiscal constraints are so tuff, yet be so generous to landlords and speculators (aka donors) as soon as they got into power, I mean it was decided in the blink of an eye, under urgency, a done deal, quid pro quo, blam blam, fire the cash at them!
And does anyone seriously think Shane Jones is going to find any more major gas deposits, when there haven’t been any new finds since the early 2000’s, forcing gas companies to start fracking to eek out remaining reserves – he’s in la la land.
We’re not Trumps America yet, but we’ve on our final approach with our landing gear down, thanks to cash-is-king-Christopher lap-of-luxury-Luxon, and Nicorette, and dark Lord Seymour, and Shane.

  5. It’s the hate people, despise people, use and abuse people budget – shades of attitudes in the British industrial revolution arising again from people whose parents did not teach their children some values other than ‘getting on in the world’, and how to get the most lollies in the lolly scramble – pinch them off the little kids.

Story I read online somewhere about Trump as a young teen. Had watched the gang fight in the film West Side Story and had to be deterred from gathering some implement and having a similar go. Start communicating with your kids young, parents have most effect before about 12, after that the world, peers, becomes more influential. Or that was how it used to be before giving little children cellphone/computer devices for their own use – sort of giving kids baby hand grenades for the mind.

  6. Great photo except in context Key’s head would have been more appropriate than Muldoon’s.

  7. If anything, Ruth wears that dress better. Her hair is short and therefore the interesting neckline is shown properly.
Willis, with her hair all over the place, ruins the effect. She needs a good haircut to wear a well-cut dress like that.
She wasted a perfectly good dress with her little girl long hair. If she didn’t want it cut, she should have had it swept up for the day.
Goes to show she’s not good at presenting a polished final result.

  8. Nicoliars interview on Q & A with Jack Tame on Sunday was appalling she told so many lies she is disgusting, and she needs to go asap she is incompetent and spins a load of lies and actually believes her own lies.
