I wonder what can be causing that?

    • Everybody has something to do with it and unless everybody does something about it, nobody will.

    • china is building more solar than anyone else in the world along with 10 nuclear power stations a year for the next 10 years .What are we doing other than drill baby drill and back tracking on any thing approved in the last 6 years .On a per person basis we are probably in the top 10 worst polluters on the planet .People in glass houses should not throw stones .

  3. There are a few factors at play here:

    1. Ill-considered urban development which has paved over excessively creating a surface flooding and run-off problem.

    2. Bureaucrats who have previously been scolded for not warning us about pending storm events are now notifying for us for every cloud on the horizon for fear of being blamed again.

    3. A quiet day in the media. They’ve got to fill the News with something and last night there were no less than three fillers on the weather.

  4. Witches hate humanity and call up storms to harm us.
    We must immediately test Nicola Willis, Casey Costello, Brook Van Velden, Erica Stanford and Maureen Pugh by throwing them into water to see if they sink or float.

  5. These right-wing, boneheads (i.e. NZ’s coalition so-called government) don’t know an incontrovertible truth when it is staring them in the face, increasingly so, worldwide.
    Don’t they have children, grandchildren and maybe great-grandchildren whose future they care for and maybe even love? (if that word is in their vocabulary)?
    Maybe some ancient scribe was more prescient than they knew when they wrote ‘the love of money is the root of all evil’.

    • Read the skin head gang leaders lips ,I DONT CARE ,he does not care because he is sorted and when his kids start breeding he will be done and dusted and knighted as well so he still wont care .

  6. We wont fix climate change. China, India, America wont stop burning fossil fuels. So there for no one else will as there is no point they will claim. Our only hope is technology.
    Or this is a stage in the simulation leading to digital era on earth- not living.

    We are just mere caterpillars in the simulation.

  9. Things could be worse, in England Starmer is saying he wants solar panels on every house. Then he wants to spend 50 million quid to devise a way to dim the sun. How did he get elected?
