Merciless blitz on defenceless Gaza — growing numbers of dead and injured

Victims 08 April – 09 April 2025:

33 killed — 41 wounded

Since dawn, Israeli air strikes and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, resulted in the death of 33 residents and the wounding of 41 others. Civil Defence crews retrieved threemore bodies from under bomb-damaged buildings, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 50,846, with the total wounded at least at 115,729. The daily average number of men, women and children, killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023, is at least 92 and, that of those injured, more than 210. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70%of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

Palestinian Monitoring Group — Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (even including permit-holders) from entering both Jerusalem City as well as Israel, other than for especially-negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.

Israeli Army attack – 2 wounded: Ramallah – 21:45, Israeli forces opened fire on, and wounded, two villagers in Shuqba village: Atta Al-Khatib and Muhammad Al-Masry.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded – house destroyed: Jenin – 01:50, Israeli Occupation forces, continuing their storming of the city and the refugee camp, wounded a resident refugee, Muhammad Jamil Abdul Rakh, and used explosives to destroy a house in the refugee camp.

Israeli Army attacks – 4 taken prisoner: Tulkarem – Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, stormed the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, taking prisoner four residents.

Israeli Army – interference with UNRWA – population–control: Jerusalem – 10:30, Israeli forces raided three UNRWA schools (two for girls, one for boys) in Shuafat Refugee Camp and issued closure notices, in order to enforce the Israeli Knesset’s law passed in late October 2014, banning UNRWA from operating in any areas controlled by Israel.

Occupation settler land-grab: Ramallah – 08:15, an Israeli Occupation settler seized and occupied an area of land, in the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta, and installed a mobile home.

Occupation settler violence: Ramallah – 17:20, Israeli settlers assaulted residents, at the entrance to the village of Kharbatha Bani Harith.

Occupation settler violence: Tubas – 10:40, Occupation settlers assaulted the Head of the Khirbet Ibziq Village Council and threatened to seize his motor vehicle.

Occupation settler violence and robbery: Tulkarem – 01:00, Israeli settlers drove their vehicle into the outskirts of Ramin village, attempting to run over a number of young men and stealing three gas cylinders from outside a nearby home.
