Former deputy prime minister Winston Peters has apologised to Mongrel Mob life member Harry Tam for incorrectly associating him with the Northland Delta outbreak.
On October 9, Peters told Newshub Nation during a live interview that Tam brought the two women at the centre of the Northland outbreak to Northland via Auckland.
Tam sent a legal letter asking for the record to be corrected and for Peters to apologise, which he has now done.
In a statement Peters said he “gave an interview to Newshub on the issue of people who had crossed the Auckland alert level 3 border improperly using essential worker credentials.

I live in Christchurch and I never believed the Peter Ellis accusations, most of the people I knew never believed it also. It is another case of the media only pushing one view so that a false idea becomes established as a default position.

He got away with the Mexican jibes, he seems to have gotten away with calling people liars in parliament, now he is setting his sights on the green MP rainbow community which could have serious consequences for this mp and his family . Peters knows everyone is sick of ‘wokery’ politics etc. But he also knows if he stirs the Greens up enough, they will be forced to come out and defend their MP, the media will jump on it and there will be a lot of publicity for this matter, at a time when the Greens really ought to be concentrating on other more general stuff.
Peters has been in and out of court enough to know how far he can go and while the Greens are busy getting annoyed with him, the public just thinks Greens = Woke Identity Publicity and don’t like it.
Peters is barely scraping into parliament. He has to divert attention from his failings and make it look as if someone else is failing instead.

Instead it seems Peters focuses on others in say Labour and the Greens in perhaps a jealous attitude of Spite and SPIT. I get the impression Peters isn’t doing too well in any polls and so he takes his anger out on others because it makes him feel superior and strong.
