NO ceasefire in Gaza — growing numbers of dead and injured
Victims 16–17 March 2025:
1 killed, 9 wounded
Israeli Occupation forces continued positioning on the northern and eastern outskirts of the Gaza Strip, opening fire and killing 1 person and wounding 9 others. Civil Defence crews retrieved 3 more bodies from underneath bomb-damaged buildings, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 48,577. The total wounded is now at least 112,041. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 92 and, that of those injured, is more than 212.
West Bank
Palestinian Monitoring Group — Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (even including permit-holders) from entering both Jerusalem City as well as Israel, other than for especially-negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.
Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Jerusalem – 10:30, Israeli forces, stationed near the Qalandiya military checkpoint, opened fire, shooting, wounding and hospitalising a man.
Israeli Army attack: Jenin – the Israeli Army, firing live ammunition, continues its storming of the city and the refugee.
Israeli Army attack – Red Crescent crews molested and hindered – home invasions: Tulkarem – Israeli troops continued storming the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nour Shams refugee camps, opening fire towards residents while invading homes. Israeli forces also hindered Palestinian Red Crescent medical crews attempting to assist patients, assaulting one of the paramedics:Fathi Nasrallah.
Israeli Army attack: Nablus – 15:30, the Israeli military, stationed at al-Muraba’a checkpoint near the entrance to the village of Tal, opened fire towards a passing motorcycle.
Israeli Army attack – 2 wounded (1 a youngster) 3 minors abducted – 1 taken prisoner: Nablus – 16:50, Israeli soldiers, firing live ammunition, stormed the town of Beit Furik, wounding a 17-year-old youth, Muhammad Hani Abu Dhraa, as well as one other person: Nour al-Din Raef Nasasra. The Israeli military also abducted two 12-year-old children, Anas Jawad Al-Hajj Muhammad and Muhammad Nasrallah Hanani, as well as a 16-year-old youth: Yousef Fadi Khatatbeh. One other resident was taken prisoner.
Israeli Army attack: Salfit – 21:50–23:30, Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, stormed and patrolled the town of al-Zawiya.
Israeli Army attack – on refugee camp: Hebron – 23:35, Israeli forces, firing live ammunition, raided and patrolled the al-Arroub refugee camp.
Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Hebron – 00:50, Israeli troops shot and wounded a man, Hammam Ahmad Abd al-Aziz Talahma, as he crossed the Green Line.
Home invasions: Jerusalem – 10:30, Israeli Occupation forces raided the town of Anata and searched three homes.
Israeli police and settlers’ mosque violation: Jerusalem – 08:00, Israeli settlers, escorted by Occupation police, invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and molested worshippers.
Israeli Army assault on woman at prayer: Jerusalem – 09:30, Israeli Occupation forces brutally assaulted a woman, Nafisa Khweis, at prayer close to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli Army agricultural sabotage: Ramallah – 06:25, Israeli forces demolished an agricultural facility, in the village of Beit Sira.
Israeli Army population–control: Jenin – 18:55, the Israeli Army took prisoner a man, Omar Muhammad Sharif Khanfar, when he reported, as ordered, for interrogation at Israeli Military Intelligence.
Israeli Army – robbery: Salfit – noon, Israeli troops seized a bulldozer from one person in the town of Bidya.
Occupation settler terrorism: Jerusalem – evening, Israeli Occupation settlers terrorised people in the Silwan neighbourhood.
Occupation settler theft: Tubas – evening, Israeli settlers stole a water-storage tank, in the al-Miteh area of the North Jordan Valley.
Occupation settler agricultural sabotage: Tubas – Occupation settlers grazed their sheep on crops, growing in the al-Farisiya area of the North Jordan Valley.
Occupation settler contempt: Salfit – 10:55, an Israeli Occupation settler, riding a tractor in the Wadi al-Matwi district, posted Israeli flags on both sides of the road.
Occupation settler violence – children terrorised – robbery: Jericho – 18:00, Israeli settlers, driving two motor vehicles, invaded the village of Ein ad-Duyuk al-Tahta, terrorising children and stealing one of their bicycles.
Occupation settler attempted arson: Bethlehem – 09:50, Occupation settlers raided the outskirts of al-Walaja village and began setting fire to stables. Villagers confronted them and were able to stop the arson and force settlers away from the area.
Occupation settler violence: Hebron – 13:05, Israeli settlers, in the Old City, beat-up a 64-year-old man, Abdul Aziz Al-Shantir, inflicting head injuries on him.
Occupation settler vandalism: Hebron – 13:20, Israeli Occupation settlers stoned and threw glass bottles against homes, in the Wadi Al-Hussein area.
Occupation settler stoning: Hebron – evening, Israelis, from the Kiryat Arba Occupation settlement in the Old City, stoned nearby homes in the Jaber and Wadi al-Nasariya neighbourhoods.
