Is it just me or has there been a lot of Mark Mitchell recently.
Like A LOT.
Here he is with Luxon in one of the most hilariously awkward videos ever filmed in the 21st Century…
Ramadan Mubarak! As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, I wish our Muslim community the very best during this month of reflection, devotion and charity. pic.twitter.com/hyRdjemy3e

…and here he is jumping fully clothed at the Manu Grand Finals…
- The Z Manu Grand Finals were held at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour on Saturday.
- Senior Government minister Mark Mitchell, the Minister of Police and Minister of Sports and Recreation, showed up to see competitors.
- Mitchell surprised the crowd, leaping into the water and doing a manu fully clothed.
…hmmmmm.
That’s a lot of Mark Mitchell isn’t it?
There are serious questions over Luxon’s leadership and we are getting a lot of Mark Mitchell..
Hmmmmm.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Well he’d be boring enough to be a natural replacement. Plus he’s a terrible choice so no doubt he’ll be picked.
I’d say that every Nat is preparing to replace Luxon as leader. Probably half New Plymouth Boys’ College and both the fifth formers at Dipton District High are too. Tracy Watkins years ago was adulating the mumbler as being in the mould of John Key and the heroic dog cuddler of Iraq, and with Mitchell now looking like a turkey being fattened up for Christmas, anything is possible.
Mercenary Mitchell for PM? what a great idea, he is a classic Natzo, ex copper, bent as if you read “Dirty Politics”, just to get selected as a candidate he ran a “special op” with the services of Simon Lusk.
Hilarious seeing Mitchell on about Ramadan given his commercial and professional involvement with armed actions against Muslims in the Mid East.
It makes little odds who leads the CoC, but at least Mark Mitchell talks in a somewhat intelligible way as compared to Baldrick’s babble.
The stench of “Dirty Politics” will linger around Mitchell however much he washes, and nor can he wash away the way he made himself a millionaire in the spoils of war, that same disgraceful war John Key salivated to get New Zealand into. Consider though, whether Mitchell’s Muslim connection may be useful if this country is to be Islamified. Consider also how Mark speaks, the manner of the man.
We’ve seen a lot of goldsmith too god forbid
I reckon National Party MPs are ‘doing the numbers’ as Luxon blunders on.
All I see is a lot of self-centred arseholes.
While Luxon let himself down with the Hosking interview he is coming home after organizing a great deal with Vietnam. Doing deals is his strength. With Winston doing a great job in Korea about the ferries we are in good hands.
Sorry Trev, the news is not good for you, bilateral trade and other agreements are the work of many hundreds of Ministry and other staff over months and years (you know, the public servants that this Govt. has been sacking with gay abandon), shiny bonce just inked the deal–and was glad to be out of this country at the time.
Now, if Winston facilitates new ferries well done, he will no doubt have backstabbed the Natzos and Act to get Korean ‘forgiveness’. The country certainly needs a reliable Cook Strait Maritime and Rail connection. Lest we forget though, Winston was in the Cabinet when Nicky canned the original ferries, so he is an operator alright.
Hey Trevor good to see you are still fighting the good fight.
I’ll give Luxon credit for his holiday in Vietnam, great deal he did given he was only there one day. It was actually great to not have his mumbojumbo for a while.
Excellent press from his handpicked media team.
As for Winston if you’ve seen the ferry deal please let us in on the details. All I’ve seen is that a committee has been appointed and are calling for international tenders for something that has not been designed yet.
It’s most probable that Winston has done a deal with Hyundai to use the break fee as a deposit on new rail enabled ferries so similar to that Labour bought that you won’t be able to tell the difference.
He will then claim an exceptional deal but in reality it will still cost as much if not more as the on shore infrastructure will still need to be built and we will still be three to five years late.
Not sure how Willis and Luxon will look after this.
If Winston can’t at least match what he wanted when he was part of the Labour coalition then he will look pretty stupid too.
Don’t forget he insisted on rail capable ferries back then.
But hey they will not release the true details due to commercial sensitivity as they always do.
We have still not seen the so called costs they used to cancel the previous deal so we will be comparing bullshit with bullshit.
None of that looks or smells great.
100%
National politicians frequently flee straight down Bowen Street and leap into Wellington Harbour fully clothed, so this stunt’s probably no big deal. If he starts pulling waitresses’ ponytails, and parading around in his pj’s, then yes, he’s a serious contender to be leader of the pack.
“Labour Minister flees from police after car accident”. Shoplifting arrest, youth camp issues, bike worker exploitation, … my finger is getting tired
My dear old Granny would’ve described the lot of them as “dreary little men”.
Probably prefer the Chris bishop / Nicola Willis Ticket. Both great in the house
Luxon was allegedly great in the house as well, that’s why they made him leader.
Bishop is corrupt, Willis is incompetent.
Brian Tamaki is a great motivator and would probably be great in the house as well, would you want him for PM.
How about the young lady from TPM, she is great in the house, so good that Winston and Shane need to constantly insult her. Mendez from the Greens is another they fear.
Those are the people we need as leaders, not ol farts that have had years and have ruined the fabric of our society.
Yes UTC Bish and Willie great in the house but fucking hopeless outside of it!
Two thoughts:
Any amount of Mark Mitchell is too much Mark Mitchell.
Replacing vacuous positivity with threatening truculence doesn’t feel like a winner.
Luxon is now considered by an increasing margin to be the most incompetent PM in the history of this country, he will not last much longer especially if the polls keep worsening for the coalition and National MP’s fear for their seats.
The media photo op focus on various other National MP’s is a cunning PR plan to draw attention away from Luxon’s poor performance and highlight just what a wonderful team he leads, Bayly being the recent exception. This PR includes photo op excursions to foreign countries under the guise of growing trade deals that seemingly never materialise let alone amount to any real significance. Unfortunately for Luxon a sizeable and ever growing percentage of the electorate don’t buy into these shallow expedient political games.
Although Mitchell has shown he can string a sentence together, just, he is as much a rank amateur as any in the coalition. I doubt his colleagues would give him the nod over Luxon.
Nobody in National is competent enough to be PM let alone an MP.
Luxon opens his mouth and corporate twaddle spews out.
Meanwhile thanks to this coalition of chaos we have a poor economy, seriously high unemployment, mismanagement of our infrastructure, record meth importation, a low wage economy, appalling school lunches and a massive divide between the wealthy and the poor. Those in emergency houses have been moved onto the streets so as to make the Coc homelessness numbers look better.
Could the Coc do better? No, they are incapable, other than jumping fully clothed into the water which is apt.
Well said Squeaky Clean what is not National
Don’t know what happened to Separation of Church and State. Looking forward to Luxies Lentan message in three days time on Ash Wednesday.
Nationals advised place on the political spectrum right now is further to the right not the centre
Being Labour lite is not going to boost their poll numbers
For god sake stand for something or continue to bleed support.
Bl**dy hope not! The only one dumber than Luxon is Mitchell.
Penky for PM!! Penky for PM!!
Isn’t Penky the one who blamed better insulation for overheating homes. Couldn’t he understand a simple thing like insulation works both ways.
If he hasn’t got a fridge or freezer with insulation then no wonder he can’t work it out. Make a tremendous PM with that level of intelligence, probably thinks Winston is a full blooded Maori who had a blood transfusion so turned white.
Why the dreary rascism-lite about Winston. Is he the wrong type of Maori for your taste?
You are dead right Fantail. Mitchell is a moron. I don’t think anyone is seriously considering Mitchell surely. Then again Judith Collins became leader so anything is possible I guess. Collins is evil, but more brains than Mitchell
Collins has murdered less kids than Mitchell, though she’s working on making that up in Yemen.
“Penky” is the most competent so that’ll immediately rule him out
My money is on Simeon brown
Bishop? Brown? Willis? Who else would the donors shoe-horn or helicopter in? Time’s running out. . .
He won’t be Nat leader, he’s not the richest one in its caucus or anywhere near it.
Natzi’s instinctively line up behind the wealthiest Cis male in the room.
Can you stop lemmings running off a cliff? it’s nature.
Hmm, ex cop, questionable activities involving hostage and ransom deals as a private security contractor in middle east, staunch no compromise view with anti gang -> maori, another wealthy millionaire+ national mp, get the impression he’s geared for any means possible pro military defence war spending and corporate business kinda guy..
c’mon – they’re stuck with a robot – the model number is irrelevant. the Stanford model is all Stepford – so possibly a runner.
