Israel’s ceasefire violations in Gaza continue but silence prevails

over growing numbers of dead and injured

Israeli Occupation forces continued positioning on the northern and eastern outskirts of the Gaza Strip opened fire on and wounded 16 returning Palestinians. Civil Defence crews retrieved the bodies of a further 22 people from under bomb-damaged buildings, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 48,319. The total wounded is now at least 111,749.The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 96 and, that of those injured, is more than 222.

Palestinian Monitoring Group Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (even including permit-holders) from entering both Jerusalem City as well as Israel, other than for especially-negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded in refugee camp: Jenin – Israeli Occupation forces are, since 12:20 on 21 January, continuing to storm the city as well as the refugee camp, this time firing live ammunition, shooting and wounding a woman, Nuha Shaaban Mahmoud Abu Al-Ezz, while searching homes.

Israeli Army attack – 3 killed – 2 taken prisoner – home invasions: Tubas – 17:40-20:15, Israeli forces stormed the al-Far’a refugee camp, firing anti-tank grenades towards a house while besieging it, killing three people including a teenager. Those killed are: Muhammad Ahmed Mustafa Khalil (aged 19), Yousef Hassan Mahmoud Tayeh and Yousef Ibrahim Abdullah Asmar. The Israeli Army seized and removed their bodies. More homes were invaded and two people taken prisoner.

Israeli Army attack – 7 houses demolished – 2 taken prisoner: Tulkarem – the Israeli Army continued storming the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nour Shams refugee camps, opening fire and invading homes. Seven houses were demolished in the refugee camp and two residents taken prisoner.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Tulkarem – 22:10, Israeli troops opened fire, from the Annexation Wall adjacent to the village of Nazlat Issa, wounding and hospitalising a man: Wassim Muhammad Nayef Abu Tamam.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded – 2 taken prisoner: Nablus – 18:0023:40, the Israeli military fired live ammunition and stun grenades towards people, while raiding the village of Tal, wounding one person, Ahmed Bilal Muhammad Hindi, and taking prisoner two others.

Israeli Army attack – 2 wounded (including 1 youngster): Nablus – 19:30, Israeli soldiers, firing live ammunition, raided Yatma village and wounded a 17-year-old youth, Amara Hamza Qandil, as well as one other person.

Israeli Army attack: Salfit – 00:30, Israeli forces opened fire, from a tower close to the Ariel Occupation settlement, towards homes north of the city.

Home invasion home destroyed with explosives: Salfit – 22:5507:40, Israeli forces raided the city, using explosives to destroy a three-storey family home.

Home invasions: Bethlehem – 01:1507:00, the Israeli Army raided the city, as well as the towns of Doha and Janata, and searched a number of homes.

Home invasion and demolition: Hebron – 11:35, Israeli forces demolished a house, in the Old City’s Khallet al-Eidah district.

Israeli police and settlers’ mosque violation: Jerusalem – 08:00, Israeli settlers, escorted by Occupation police, invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and molested worshippers.

Israeli Army agricultural sabotage: Hebron – 11:30, Israeli troops bulldozed crops and agricultural facilities in the Farsh al-Hawa area.

Occupation settlement land-grab: Tubas – 08:40, Occupation settlers seized land, near the Tayasir checkpoint, bulldozing and carrying out construction, in order to enlarge their settlement outpost.

In 1947/1948 His father explained to him what was happening to the Palestinians thus: “Any ideology or political movement that creates refugees in the process of realising its ambitions must be inhuman and should be opposed and condemned as unacceptable.” What followed confirmed this assessment of the Zionist entity a hundredfold. Now a retired flamenco guitarist, with a lifelong interest in the tragedy of what happened to the Palestinian people, he tries to publicise their plight.
