MEDIAWATCH: Compare the Golriz media coverage vs Tim Jago media coverage in terms of privilege

Just consider the difference between the Golriz shoplifting coverage vs Tim Jago coverage.

The toxic leprechaun Leo Molloy and spite hate blogger Marc Springer have feed smears on Golriz while the Police used warrantless mass surveillance handed to them by the Supermarkets

The coverage has been wall to wall.

Tim Jago on the other hand is convicted of historical sex charges and his identity is hidden over the election while ACT are campaigning on tough on crime rhetoric as former NZ Initiative researcher now Stuff Political Editor Luke Malpass is silent as is Jenna Lynch who is married to ACTs Party Chief of Staff Andrew Ketels.

Consider what we now know re Jago.

No one is asking how the Youth wing of ACT knew about Jago before the leadership…

…no one is asking who wrote this in 2021…

ACT Party newsletter slammed for saying one violent or sexual offence ‘might be a regrettable mistake’

A newsletter by the ACT Party stating one serious violent or sexual offence might be a “regrettable mistake” is disappointing and shows more education is needed around the issue, victims’ advocate Louise Nicholas says.

In ACT’s weekly Free Press newsletter, the party discusses its opposition to repealing the three strikes law – which the Government announced it would do last week. The three-strikes law means third-time serious offenders get the maximum sentence with no chance of parole.

“We don’t mind giving people a second chance, maybe even a third chance, but we don’t think they deserve a fourth chance,” the newsletter says.

“One serious violent or sexual offence might be a regrettable mistake. Perhaps even two, at a pinch.

“It makes sense to rehabilitate people if they can be… For them, for the taxpayer, and for everyone, because even the longest sentence ends eventually. But at some point, rehab don’t work.

“After three serious violent or sexual offences, it is time to throw away the key.”

Nicholas told Newshub said the “regrettable mistake” comment was a “ridiculous statement”.

…it’s pretty clear isn’t it?

When it’s a young brown migrant woman, the hate never ends.

When it’s a white male right winger with mates in the media, total silence.

The final word should go to Winston…

…amen.

  1. We all know there are 2 justice systems and that they are based on power and wealth. But the powerful and wealthy still feel the need to periodically grab us by the neck and rub our faces in it saying ” it’s dog shit for you and diamonds for us”

  2. To a libertarian, there is nothing wrong with what Tim Jago did. To a Jago or a Seymour, when those young boys accepted alcohol and drugs that Jago plied them with, they were agreeing to a verbal contractual obligation to be molested.

  3. Supermarkets like PaknSurveillance, need to put up a sign, in reasonable sized font, at eye level, near the main entrance, viewable from outside the store, detailing everything they are doing with our information.
If the supermarket is increasing its profit by selling identity details advertising databases, gangsters in eastern europe, scammers in Nigeria, or footage of children in the lolly aisle to creepy blog forums on 4chan, customers should know about it before setting foot in the store.
And the privacy commissioner should be leading it, not trying to catch up with it.
