‘Genocide hotline’ sets a dangerous precedent – Chief Human Rights Commissioner
The Human Rights Commission is calling for the immediate halt of a local ‘hotline’ to report Israeli soldiers holidaying in New Zealand.
The commission has received at least 100 complaints about the digital flyer being distributed by Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa.
The post, titled “genocide hotline”, asks the public for “help to track them down so we can let them know they are not welcome here”.
Te Amokapua Chief Human Rights Commissioner Stephen Rainbow said it was a worry and should be taken down immediately.
“The primary concern is really around the precedent that this creates in terms of encouraging people to indulge in behaviours which could lead to some tragic consequences.
Let’s be very clear.
Fuck Chief Human Rights Commissioner Stephen Rainbow.
He is a zionist apologist who should NEVER have gained the role he has as was made abundantly clear by The Spinoff expose on how this zionist apologist was appointed in the first place…
Controversial human rights commissioners weren’t recommended by hiring panel
Exclusive: New leadership hires at the Human Rights Commission were contrary to recommendations made by the independent panel tasked with leading the process, documents released under the Official Information Act reveal.
On a quiet Friday afternoon in August, justice minister Paul Goldsmith announced the appointment of three leadership roles at the Human Rights Commission: Stephen Rainbow as chief human rights commissioner, Gail Pacheco as equal employment opportunities commissioner and Melissa Derby as race relations commissioner. The three are scheduled to take up their new roles next month.
Human rights commissioner appointments have historically been uncontroversial, even if the commissioners themselves sometimes court controversy in the role. But the appointments of Rainbow and Derby in particular sparked questions of process and intent, largely surrounding Rainbow’s vocal support of Israel and both Rainbow and Derby’s history of anti-trans views.
As the minister who oversaw their appointments, Goldsmith defended his decisions at the time, telling RNZ, “People express all sorts of views before they take up these roles, but I have every confidence that he will go about his work in a very open and inclusive way.”
But documents released under OIA to The Spinoff last week suggest the recruitment process wasn’t straightforward, with neither Rainbow nor Derby being put forward as shortlisted candidates by the independent panel tasked with conducting the “transparent process”.
…I’m less concerned with Rainbow’s supposed anti-Trans views (they are only ‘problematic’ to the uber woke) and far more worried about what appointing an Israeli apologist to the position AT THE SAME TIME as Israel is committing a real time ethnic cleansing war crime means to the mana of the Human Rights Commission…
The Spinoff has viewed documents with fewer redactions that show Rainbow was specifically noted as “not recommended” by the panel following his interview. Pacheco was listed as “highly appointable”. Two of the candidates for race relations commissioner (neither of whom were Derby as she was not initially interviewed) were graded as “highly appointable” by the panel.
…that Rainbow was purposely NOT recommended is a damning indictment on his appointment and the total lack of authority he now has after this revelation makes him a lame duck Commissioner who will have no moral authority on any issue.
The Human Rights Commissioner is a zionist apologist who should never have been appointed – his Pro-Israel criticisms against John Minto are meaningless
Minto and his activists are directly confronting IDF soldiers who are holding here thanks to the Working Holiday Visa for Israeli Soldiers and those war criminal drenched soldiers are being told they are not welcome.
That ACT and the Human Rights Commissioner are more focused on war criminals being able to chill out on holiday here without any stress is an indictment on their morality, not John Minto’s
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Few bleated when former Human Rights Commissioner Paul Hunt , from the shabby Uni of Waikato, supported transgender extremists silencing women’s voices and doing a huge disservice to New Zealand women seeking to be heard. They terrorised Posy Parker clean out of the country, but few bleated about that, and some politicians celebrated.
When the Jewish Council says jump of course Stephen Rainbow does just that. It is all so pathetic. Call them out and boot them out! Winston and all his hubris on the radio today bluff and bluster.
Letting Israeli butchers know they are not welcome here shows them that they may run but cannot hide from what they have done to thousands of women, children and elderly Palestinians.
Outing IDF is a small contribution to make for justice from our distance. The Govt. was too gutless (or supportive of Israel) to say anything so ordinary people led by some of our most courageous activists will have to do it.
Oh the typical Israeli zio nazis are out in force.
Screw the war criminals.
Apologist supporting a 100 year long ethic cleansing and genocide.
Go live there and I bet you will change your tune real fast.
‘The people who occupy Gaza and the West Bank are not merely enemies; they are a danger to the very existence of the Jewish homeland.’
The Palestinian muslims and Christians peacefully co-existed with Jewish communities for hundreds of years before the twentieth century( visiting Israel in the 1970s I found places like Haifa where this was still true).
Zionism not only created the race-hatred that destroyed this peace, it also led to the destruction of historic Jewish communities in North Africa, Syria and Iraq.
To quote the late Jewish Mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kolleck, ‘ Every time someone tells me that the Palestinian minority could destroy the Jewish majority I want to piss myself laughing’
Um, shouldn’t any participants in a mass murder ethnic cleansing be denied entry to the country? At the least under the good character test, and further because Israel is also being investigated by the international courts for genocide, and certainly because the video evidence of massacre of unarmed innocents is so overwhelming, but also because as a country of conscience, humanity and justice New Zealand should be setting an example around the world?

Oh, they’re meaningful. Stephen Rainbow has declared himself an enemy of the human race.
And other organizations which the controlled media like to pretend are neutral arbiters have done the same. Juliet Moses of the Jewish Federation has openly endorsed bringing bloodthirsty war criminals to New Zealand. The ‘Holocaust Centre’- which only functions to defend the genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian people- hosted a speech by David Seymour where he praised the Gaza Holocaust.
Israel is quickly descending into an ultra orthodox death cult. It won’t be long before the world turns it’s back on them.
If there was a poll on letting in Israeli soldiers or Palestinian refugees, I suspect the latter would lose.
