Internal police emails reveal alarm over bill that reduces oversight of clubs and ranges
- Internal police emails reveal “children” have used military-style semi-automatic firearms at gun clubs.
- The emails also discuss a “significant number” of firearms’ owners who left pistol clubs in 2023 while still possessing guns.
- The concerns relate to a new bill that reduces police oversight of gun clubs and ranges.
The gun club like the one the Christchurch terrorist used?
Nicole wants to deregulate them?
No one, not even the Police Association, seems to understand why this Bill is even happening.
Why on earth is Nicole McKee wanting to de-regulate shooting clubs and firing ranges?
I think that Nicole is such a gun fanatic and the community of gun fetishists that she represents are so crazy that they want these changes while no one else does.
Why though? Why exempt gun clubs who don’t do pistols?
Here’s why I think it’s happening.
The gun cultists are very big on ‘Combat Shooting Sport’, where you shoot things while walking around. It’s the immersive qualities of ‘Combat Shooting Sport’ they want to build a community around to also politicise.
My guess is that this new Governing body will immediately move to allow ‘Combat Shooting Sport’ ranges on the non-pistol ranges.
Look, I don’t trust Nicole McKee as far as I can throw her (and I have serious questions if I could even lift her with my back), so if she’s for something when it comes to guns, the rest of us should be pretty much be firmly against.
These gun fetishists are not to be trusted.

Another hate filled woman right wing MP .What has happened to the women in the last couple of years .Where has that maternal instinct of protecting their kids gone .Now they seem delighted to trample all over those kids and kick them to the curb .We have the big bum blondes attacking from inside national and the two brown bombers from act attacking the safety of NZ as a whole .These people are hell bent on turning NZ into a paradise for kiddy fiddlers and abusers .
In fact the gun club that Tarrant used flagged his behaviour to the cops but, as usual, they did nothing.
Would the gun clubs bother now, or once they become less regulated?
McKee fixing a problem that didn’t exist.
All that’s happening is a removal of some admin and basically going back to the situation before Ginny Andersen had a go in 2022. Stats show there was no reason for change, incidents are rare and minor – especially once those involving Police are taken out.
And if you are familiar with Andersen’s effectiveness as a Minister, removing all traces of her work and starting again would have bipartisan support.
Gee Andrew, one has to remember that the Police were too busy pouring resources into people who criticise the establishment, for example whoever exposed mendacious communications of John Key a few years prior or the RWNJs threatening Ardern’s family.
What’s an RWNJ?
Google has your answer.
See Xenophon for a prime example of a RWNJ
Exactly – there’s a lot of sense in dropping the pointless regulations to ensure more gun clubs stay open – and therefore increase the chances that someone might get eyes on someone with suspicious or troublesome behaviour.
Otherwise said individuals will just find some vacant DoC land, or Farmland to practice where there isn’t so much scrutiny – like say the back of the Uraweras…
Oh yeah? Well your idea didn’t work out with the Christchurch mass murder very well did it….. and the eyes on him in the gun club he belonged to, were where? Not on him that’s for sure. But anyone who belongs to a gun club is probably already pretty swilvey eyed. Blind eyed, one eyed. Whatever.
Pretty basic stuff. Learning to shoot at a gun club is safer. Sighting a rifle at a gun club is safer. Over regulating clubs into extinction makes us all less safe.
This come a couple of days after a man was sent to jail for 3 years because he and his kid were driving around shooting any thing their heat seeker picked up .
By far the best way of training in good firearms safety, out slack behavior or flagging odd behavior is having more access to gun clubs.
Range disciple is very strict.
Making it more difficult to have firearms ranges was yet another counterproductive “all guns bad” over reach from Labour.
And yeah Tarrant was reported by a gun club, it wasn’t them not doing their job.
Probably just the FSA and their media cronies being morons to be honest.
> Figures from July 2023 to June 2024 show of the 3,878 firearms licence holders in New Zealand, 441 did not meet the conditions of their endorsement.
Confusing ‘licence’ and ‘endorsement’s doesn’t exactly sound like they know what they’re talking about. There are more than a couple hundred thousand firearms licence holders in New Zealand.
> The communications also highlight a “significant number” of firearms’ owners who broke the conditions of their licence by leaving pistol clubs in 2023 while still possessing guns.
Given how stupid Frykberg is, and the incompetence of the FSA, that could well include people who moved clubs or disposed of the pistols within the time period the FSA requires for the endorsement (not ‘licence’).
>The emails from the police regulator, the Firearms Safety Authority, said children used MSSAs at shooting clubs on “three separate occasions”, which was “illegal”.
>
>However, it is unclear whether the incidents took place before or after 2019, when MSSAs were banned following the Christchurch terror attacks.
I love how they include this paragraph, which confirms that actually, the FSA has no idea if the actions they are saying were actually “illegal” at the time these events occurred, such as whether the so called ‘MSSA’ in question was categorized as anything other than a A-cat firearm that could be owned by a 16 year old with a firearms license at the time.
