Gaza Strip

Attacks: There are no safe places for the militarily-dominated population in Gaza, who find themselves subjected to airstrikes and other missile attacks on buildings, homes and many essentialfacilities, as well as constant gunfire and invasions by Israeli forces. The Israeli Navy continues to fire missiles, targeting facilities and buildings along the entire Gaza shoreline.

Victims: 78 more people have been killed within the past 48 hours, bringing the total number killed in Gaza since 7 October to at least 43,469. Another 214 have been wounded bringing that total to 102,561. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 109 and that of those injured is now more than 258.

Malaysia to seek Israel’s expulsion from the UN over Gaza violations

Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, has announced that his country is working on a draft resolution to expel Israel from the United Nations over its consistent violations of international law during the war on Gaza. “Strong measures, including Israel’s removal from the United Nations following Israel’s human rights violations and genocidal crimes, must be enforced as soon as possible,” he told the Malaysian parliament. The move was reportedly triggered by Israel’s banning of the United Nations’ agency for Palestinian refugees UNRWA. UNRWA is the primary provider of humanitarian relief to Gaza’s beleaguered population, consisting largely of refugees displaced from their homes and land for the establishment of Israel. Anwar said that Malaysia was firm in its support for the right of Palestinians to establish a sovereign state, free from the “dispossession, terrorism, cruelty and genocide” committed by Israel.

Fiftytwo nations call for global arms embargo on Israel

The Foreign Ministry of Turkiye sent the UN a letter signed by 52 nations and two organisations, calling for a halt in military transfers to Israel, stating the Israeli Army is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, called for the arms embargo on Israel while speaking at a news conference in Djibouti on 1 November. While attending the Turkiye–Africa collaboration meeting, Fidan announced that the group letter was sent to the UN and that it must be “repeated at every opportunity that selling arms to Israel means participating in its genocide.” Ahmet Yildiz, Turkiye’s permanent ambassador to the UN, stated that Israel’s actions have pushed the region to the brink of war.

Leslie Bravery
Leslie Bravery is a Londoner with vivid World War Two memories of the Nazi blitz on his home town. In 1947/1948 His father explained to him what was happening to the Palestinians thus: “Any ideology or political movement that creates refugees in the process of realising its ambitions must be inhuman and should be opposed and condemned as unacceptable.” What followed confirmed this assessment of the Zionist entity a hundredfold. Now a retired flamenco guitarist, with a lifelong interest in the tragedy of what happened to the Palestinian people, he tries to publicise their plight. Because the daily injustices they suffer barely get a mention in the mainstream news media, Leslie edits/compiles a daily newsletter, In Occupied Palestine, for the Palestine Human Rights Campaign. These days, to preserve his sanity, he enjoys taking part in a drama group whenever possible!
