This Government’s privatization agenda, acquiescence to polluter donors + real estate pimps was well signalled – you were just too busy hating Jacinda to notice!

The Daily Blog pointed out right at the beginning of this hard right, racist, climate denying, beneficiary bashing, disabled abusing Government that most voters hadn’t even read the policies and were voting from a place of anger and hatred with Jacinda.

You will remember The Democracy Project and the rest of the mainstream media attempted to convince you all that this was a ‘moderate’ Government.

The Democracy Project and the rest of the mainstream media didn’t pretend to try and mouth those lies any longer, they know they can’t pretend this hard right, racist, climate denying, beneficiary bashing, disabled abusing Government is ‘moderate’ any longer.

ALL of this was immediately apparent the millisecond National, ACT and NZF won, yet Kiwis didn’t bother understanding the policy platform because so many were twisted with anger towards Jacinda for having the temerity to save 20 000 lives during a once in a century pandemic.

At some stage Kiwis have to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves if that anger was manipulated by the right into passing legislation that favours the rich, the polluters the Real Estate Pimps, Big Tobacco, Guns and Trans National Mining interests.

  2. I don’t hate Jacinda. I acknowledge that she remains a hero to many of us. But where is she now? As soon as things got difficult here, she was off to the US, where she is working the celebrity circuit and is regularly seen at A-list parties. Nothing surprising in that. The US owes her for bringing New Zealand into the Ukraine war, joining NATO, supporting Israeli expansionism and allowing the US NSA to embed itself in the Realm’s security organisations.
    From the American side it all makes sense. But the New Zealand left needs to see what is glaringly obvious to the New Zealand public, which is that the five or six years during which Jacinda headed the government in Wellington was always about Jacinda and nobody but Jacinda. It was not about the redemption of our nation. The same is true of her successor, Chris Hipkins, and the entire hierarchy of the Labour Party. A few “Kiwis” may have been “twisted with anger” towards the Labour government but for the majority it was a case of being sadly disillusioned. They know that the present coalition government is incarnate evil. They also know that the sixth Labour government did nothing to ameliorate the social crisis created by the policies of the fourth Labour government, and that Labour has no programme to do so when it next gets a chance to take power. The long and short of it is that colonialism has no answer to the problems of its own making.

    • If you had endured the same shit as she did daily ,with threats of murder and rape of herself and her baby I very much doubt that you would have stayed as long as she did .Dont deny those things happened ,I saw them daily on the microsoft news daily and reported several case to police .
      Jacinda deserved better than that and has taken the road she has for her own well being and that of her family as well .
      We are currently being raped by the government of greedy rich pricks and no where do I see the same level of vile shit that Jacinda had to put up with .Maybe its because the current PM is a skin head leading a gang of thugs

      • Like thousands of others I have stayed despite being threatened, assaulted, arrested, imprisoned, unemployed and made homeless. That is what tangata motu do. They stick it out. They don’t do that for their “own well being” but in the end they and their whanau are spiritually rewarded for patriotic devotion to their iwi, and for putting the greater good before their own personal fears and desires.
        On the other side Jacinda is not unique among colonialist politicians. Count the ones who have a boltholes in Hawaii, Sydney or London in preparation for the day when the wind that they have sown in Aotearoa becomes a hurricane of destruction.
        The fact is that Jacinda is no longer here and she may not be coming back. Tangata motu are still here, despite everything they have had to endure over the past two centuries. Our future will be determined by those who stay to fight, not by those who claim the people’s mandate only to run away to a life of ease at the centre of empire.

          • A historical fact: In 1908 the USA laid plans for a naval invasion of New Zealand. As far as we know it is the only nation apart from Great Britain and Australia to have actually planned an invasion of Aotearoa. (Australian and British regiments invaded the Waikato and Bay of Plenty in 1862).
            If the United States is not considered an enemy it is because it has total control over the colonialist regime which openly declares itself to be “in lock step” with Washington.
            Despite that I would not call the US “an enemy” to Aotearoa. I would just ask it to butt out of our internal affairs.

          • Also interesting to note that while New Zealand has been engaged in wars against Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Palestine, South Africa and many other nations, not one of these nations has ever attempted to invade New Zealand.
            The only nations that have invaded or planned to invade are Britain, Australia and the US, New Zealand’s “traditional allies” and “like minded states”.
            The only explanation for this strange paradox is that since 1840 New Zealand has been a colonial state there to make war against nations with which it has no quarrel on behalf of its imperial masters.

        John Key was right if he said that people need to ”get some guts and join the right side”. It is just that John Key was and is on the wrong side. All colonialist politicians are. Their overseas boltholes are a sure sign that they themselves know that they are on the losing side, and that ultimately there can be no future for them in Aotearoa.

    – poor political management
    – losing scalps all over the place
    – losing control of the narrative
    – not selling the actual incremental changes made
    – bringing in policy by stealth rather rather than being upfront and getting called out
    – not moving fast enough on change so the bedded in changes become less removable by a later govt.
    – wasting time fiddling around on social issues rather than economics
    – talk festing and bureacratic reviewing when in govt rather than arriving with an implementation plan
    – squandering the biggest political mandate available in the last 30 years

    Election 2026 is going to be damn interesting in seeing what the non vote is.
    They won’t vote for labour because of 2020 failure to act and wont trust them in 2026 but will refuse to vote green who would force labour into a corner.

Even sadder than that long list of failings is that approaching one year after losing the election and we have yet to see even one shred of evidence that Labour has learnt anything, is going to change anything or can offer any hope for a better NZ for those who need it most.

    • So where are the new ferries and the 4 new hospitals now ?all long term thinking projects that were long over due .Now they will never happen because this government cant think past last week .We have a failing economy and rising debt with nothing to show for the extra borrowing .Wellfare payments will rise because we are throwing thousands on the scrap heap .Just imagine if the 50k that have left for other places had stayed how much that payment would be weekly .Luckily not so many people are cueing up to come now as they know this government is going to fuck them over when they get here .They will be stripped of their last $10k to undertake some bogus exam run by some national party scammer .

The dregs of hatred could be seen yesterday at the NZFirst conference . Winston Peters supported by the desperate anti vaccination brigade. Why do you think Van Velden won’t release the first bit of the covid enquiry ? because it proved Jacinda did well and the coalition can’t stomach that especially Winston Peters because it proves what a sham heand his party actually are.

  7. The truth is that the Jacinda Ardern years were dominated by 2 factors.
    1.Firstly by the White Aussie killing 51 Muslims in Christchurch on March 19th 2019.
    2.One year later almost to the day PM Ardern placed the Nation into Covid emergency.
    What it meant was that Ardern with her heroic woman Leader role came to be the most
    recognised and worshipped NZ PM world wide ever.
    National were bitter and twisted with how everything played into Ardern and Labour’s hands.
    The saviour Ardern was returned in 2020 on a massive landslide totally destroying National.
    On 19th Jan 2023 Ardern stepped down a National hero.
    National were pissed as Ardern avoided National’s desire to destroy her at an election
    and devalue her heroic status.
    Yes National were angry Peters had stabbed them in the back allowing Ardern to win in 2017.
    es National were insanely Jealous of Arderns world wide fame
    Yes Nats were pissed a “Commie Feminist Pogressive “made them sit down, shut up listen 3 years.
    Yes also true the right wing embarked on the most racist election campaign since Hitler.
    But despite all this the truth is Labour since 1945 has only ever had one 3 term Government.
    2023 was simply the idiot swinging voters changing sides after 6 years of Labour..
    The same idiot voters will swing in 2029 and re-elect the Government they elected out in 2023

  10. You are so right in your summary of why Labour lost .
    Jacinda was given a golden opportunity to show how a country run under a socialistic policy of kindness and inclusion could succeed. They had no opposition of note and no partners to muddy the water . The result was a disaster and failed to achieve much of note. Maori turned against them as they saw the falseness of their moves .and voters saw Jacinda throw in the towel and a weak leader reluctantly take over .
    The voters turned against Labour and elected Nation who are now doing most of what they said they would do when on the election trail which is not what Labour did.
