Dear NZ – you have sided with “I’m rich and I’m sorted’

You have sided with “I’m rich and I’m sorted’ because you hated Jacinda for having the temerity to save 20 000 lives during a once in a century pandemic.

Consider the insane culture war revenge fantasies masquerading as social policy and the venal self interested donor class getting their economic policy:

  • Denigrating anti-Māori agenda
  • Attacks on worker rights
  • Attacks on renter rights
  • Slashing public services to afford a $2.9billion tax break for rich landlords
  • Borrowing for tax cuts
  • Slashing $90-$300million in Māori funding
  • Slashing $3billion from climate change funds
  • Promising cancer patients money for their drugs then only funding half of them at twice the cost.
  • Race war generating Treaty principles referendum
  • Eliminating Māori representation at local council level
  • Fast Track Powers that will desecrate environment
  • Allowing Gas and Oil exploration
  • Building a mega prison
  • Draconian war on crime powers
  • Getting NZ involved in a new American war
  • Allowing News media to die so there is less accountability
  • Attacking beneficiaries
  • Throwing 50 000 off welfare
  • Attacking the disability sector
  • Lying about Dunedin Hospital
  • Gerrymandering democratic oversight
  • Manufacturing a crisis in Public Health
  • Privatisation Agenda

You’ve allowed an anti-Māori, anti-Treaty, anti-worker, anti-environment, anti-renter, anti-beneficiary agenda to eclipse the venal devotion to donor interests at the cost of the common good.

Perhaps you need to reflect on your spite and how your anger was manipulated by National, ACT and NZF into this harvest of malice.

  1. Nobody hated Jacinda for saving 20,000 lives. They simply wearied of a government which was confronted with the levers of power and displayed a singular inability to pull them.

Incompetence has its own rewards. . .

    • Covid ankle tapped everything…

Covid became the dark destroyer, and the undisputed fact is that Labour’s handling of it, lead by Jacinda Ardern, was rated by W.H.O as one of the very best responses by any country anywhere in the world.
The Jacinda Arden, Dr. Ashley Bloomfield combination was exemplary, top drawer and all class.

Conversely…look at National and Act’s unhinged, childish, irresponsible rhetoric throughout that time and any fool can see how hopeless and dangerous they would have been.
      Think Trump.. and Boris…

Luxon is out of his depth and can’t even handle normal everyday stuff that’s happening right now, so you don’t have to be a genius to conclude that had he and the Coalition of Chaos been in power when Covid struck, then N.Z. would’ve ended up in a much worse terrible parlous state on many levels.

Best layed plans can be undone in the blink of an eye if circumstances conspire against you…that’s life.

What Luxon and his band of fuckwits are doing, is, actually creating a disaster…now that takes some doing and an extraordinary level of stupidity and fuckwittery combined…but hey!… he can carry out any form of hubristic nonsensical idiocy that he wants to … ‘cos he’s sorted …and entitled!!

    • I could not have put it better. I think the theory is if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes true.Labour will not get back into power until they except they were a terrible government when in power and need to change their outlook.

      • Good on you trev – repeat a lie often enough and it will be believed.
You are the living (I think) proof of that. And there are so many lies and scathing half-truths floating around about people doing it hard, it’s a cornucopia to choose from. Unfortunately they have been repeated so often they are getting corny. But they are getting your tired old blood pumping. Exciting isn’t it!

    • We loved Jacinda at the beginning and bought into her dream for a better kinder NZ.
We loved her mission to eradicate child poverty and at the start of the Covid period she was perfect.

And then with poor advice became unnecessarily authoritarian and divided NZ into two classes of people.
Sadly she left us worse off economically and socially and when she realised she had no answers she quit.

But she is making the best of her time in the international spotlight and is now rich and seemingly has her life sorted.

      • “And then with poor advice became unnecessarily authoritarian and divided NZ into two classes of people.”

        Sounds like the National/ACT government.

    • Covid was unprecedernted and nobody knew the scope! Society is interdependent. What would you have done – under the circumstances?

    • ” displayed a singular inability to pull them.”
Better than multiple inability of Luxie there Henry.
As in the multi- personality shots above who the hell is the real Luxie ?
It’s like watching the movie ” Split ” with Luxie and there he is above as ” KAT ” , then acting as the flirty teenager ” Jade “. Then the 2 thumbs up 9 year old ” Hedwig.
Then pretends he’s got some intellect like ” Mr. Pritchard ” CEO don’t you know ? Quickly transitioning flirting and posing inappropriately as ” Kevin “. ???
      We’ve seen ” Patricia ” overseas.
And we’ve seen a glimpse of the bad temper too.
The guy is a fake !

    • Dame Jacinda Ardern lived in premier house with a new baby, no entitlements for her. I recall her having buckets strategically placed to catch the drips. Not for the lazy fat controller though . We have a financial crisis and he who must be obeyed needed alterations and alterations he got at the taxpayers expense. Who pays for his sojourn’s back to Auckland every Wednesday, who has paid for his multiple overseas trips . He is rich and sorted “I’m all right Jack” living off the fat of the taxpayers land that is Aotearoa and no doubt he is entitled to get richer by the day.

    • Mmmm what evidence do you have to support your claim.
I think if you are able, which I doubt you can, to get the true worth of the two people you mention, you may find that Jacinda hardly fits into the rich strata that includes Luxon.
She may well be rich compared to many, but she has not made her money while serving her country but since leaving politics and being recognized as a person of integrity and empathy that other people in other countries are willing to learn from.
I can’t imagine Luxon ever being afforded the respect of other international leaders that she has.
Even the leader of our 2008 to 2016 rockstar economy has to be trotted out by the Herald on a regular basis so he can be remembered by the business community and as a cheerleader for Luxon and Trump.

  2. National and it’s partners have the same short term approach to making a dollar that those who pull the internal walls down and burn along with the furniture have to keeping warm, they just don’t care that making a dollar today will cost someone thousands in the future to fix. I would like to have made a difference between load and non load bearing internal walls however this government would not care so we can expect things to collapse as a result.

  3. I am pleased New Zealanders did because we want competent people running the country.

Economic ruin was the recipe under Ardern, Hipkins and Robertson.

    • You want competent people running the country?

You are surely not suggesting that Luxon, Willis, Seymour, Peters etc are competent…Bhaaaaaaaaaaaa Can you point us to the evidence…

    • Just a helping hand pdm – you have got the acronym wrong – it’s ‘Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)’. It’s fine, you don’t have to go to the bother of thanking me.

  4. The right hated Jacinda for being on prime TV every day for 3 years.
Being told to sit down, shut up and listen really hurt the right wing.
Adern the covid Queen, world famous and totally destroying National in 2020 with so many blue seats voting red really peed the red necks off.
By 2023 the Nats were completely obsessed with revenge.
The red necks are bent on eviscerating everything Ardern out of spite.
Its best to just let them burn themselves out then turn on each other.
Sow seeds of doubt of course but save your best energy for 2027
onward to heap all the countries problems on to the red necks.
Time and the swinging voters will do the rest in 2029.
Time to put the “I didn’t vote National” in the back windscreen.

    • Unfortunately, or fortunately, as the case may be …we can’t wait that long.

It needs to be all out attack right now, and boy have they got plenty of ammunition !!

    • Ardern was vaguely better than Muldoon. Otherwise she had nothing to recommend her poor abilities and shockingly low performance. At least during the Covid 19 lockdowns she could defer to others.

  5. A true leader does not create separation.
A true leader brings people together.

Luxon is not a leader, he is a separatist as proven by his multiple statements.

  6. The poor & needy were thrown into squalid motels by Labour & forgotten about. They promised to house them but never built the houses they promised and ran the economy into the ground.

When everyone’s on a benefit, and no one is working, Labour supporters will be happy, but the country will be stuffed. Just keep taxing it’s workers to death and give it to multi-generational beneficiaries, and you’ll get your wish.

    • Gail so giving landlords tax payers income to landlords is good use of our tax?
Landlords have become the multi-generational beneficiaries you speak of.
And National have thrown the poor and the needy onto the streets.
      Lastly the motels weren’t squalid.

      • The ones in TV were and I visited 2 in Chch that were appalling. Only 1 element on the stove worked . They were put there and then forgotten about.

        • They were recompensed to an over valued rate Trevor, but what you saw was typical of right wing greed. Take, take, take.

  7. Is that why we have borrowed more under this COC government pdm to pay for the tax cuts and prop up the landlords who can already make a nice capital gain and increase their rental property rates at the same time. Now we have private developers being protected and yet they didn’t want to build houses for the poor and working class as not enough profit margins for them.

  10. National started the motel model policy they also reduced the number of state houses, gentrified many state housing areas, sold state housing land to private developers, sold prime land to the Chinese, made it harder for people to get onto the state housing waiting lists, increased immigration knowing there was shortage of housing driving house prices up therefore encouraging housing as a good investment option. Under National NEET numbers were high. Do your homework Gail king it’s because of dummies like you we are in this fucken mess.

  13. No doubt about it, Chris Luxon is a rich guy. He’s a former business executive. Made a lot of coin doing that. And it seems he’s good at it. Even a relatively small amount of capital gain on real estate doesn’t escape his attention (but unlikely its his real focus, more like, its what ‘the market’ delivers when its time to sell). I get it. When so many folk are doing it tough of late because of certain collation policies – but mostly it seems the NATS – is not a good look for the PM. Someone with better sensibilities would keep his head down. But maybe he wears his success like a badge. A good many rich folk do. No apologies. Now I’m not making excuses for the man but what is is about Kiwi’s? Do we simply mistrust rich pricks? Is it the tall poppy syndrome? Does living at earth’s end blind us to the fact that there are thousands, millions of really rich pricks (and their female equivalents). Is having monetary wealth morally indefensible? And how much is too much? Look around. From Jack Tame to Auckland Ports CEO, Roger Gray, from All Blacks legends to Peter Jackson and Sam Neill- and they’re NOWHERE near the NBR List! Some folk simply have a shit load of money, assets and investments. A shit load more than me. And that’s just little ol’ Nu Zild. Look no further than Taylor Swift, Speilburg, Scorsese, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts …. and a million others. And that just the entertainment industry. Yep, we pay our dues and feather their nest. FFS, there’s rich pricks peering out from everywhere. Even the enablers are driving around in Porches and high-end land cruises and drinking vintage wine from crystal glasses. And I don’t mean those ‘lucky’ enough to be mortgage free with some coin in the bank – in NZ not that many as a percentage I believe. But to be in that position you must ‘feel’ rich, in comparison to the poor sods who have next to nothing to their name. No, what I really mean is so much wealth that you don’t even know how much. Good fortune? Birth? Hard work? Financial literacy? Ill-gotten? Simply an accident of fate? Is Luxon’s only crime is that he finds himself PM in a country where people are extremely jealous of their neighbor?
