Man who wanted to build gallows, hear Jacinda Ardern’s ‘neck snap’ guilty of threats to kill
A man who told an online channel he’d be “quite happy to execute” then Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern – he’d make the gallows if needed – and who claimed he wanted to hear her “neck snap” has been convicted of threatening to kill.
Richard Sivell was convicted of that charge, and related charges of obstruction, after a judge-alone trial at Tauranga District Court on Wednesday.
The court heard lurid threats from Sivell himself, in the form of audio comments made on a social media channel, aimed at Ardern – often referred to as “Jezebel” – and other senior politicians of the time.
Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield was a “[Bill] Gates clone”, Labour Minister Andrew Little “vile”, Chris Hipkins was “demon midget”.
“They needed to face a firing squad,” he said on one of the recordings, made in 2021.
Hanging was an option, too.
“We just need to make sure we build the gallows right … I’ve got all sorts of tools and I’m quite happy to come down and construct some gallows, for free … I’m quite happy to execute the m….. f…… for high treason,” he said.
“Just hope there’s a Bunnings or Mitre 10 that’ll give us some timber.”
Sivell also described via text in a different social media channel how “common law” or sheriffs would be able to “apprehend her [Ardern] and put her in a cell”.
“Judge her for high treason and crimes against humanity and execute the c….”
These are the SovCit scum lunatics alongside the Qanon Anti-Vaxxers that NZ First is enabling with their absurd grievance inquiry.
The toxic hatred spat at Jacinda for having the temerity to save 20 000 lives (most of whom were Boomers who then went on to vote for NZF, proving no good deed goes unpunished) was exacerbated by social media hate algorithms, loneliness, ignorance and anger.

The comments were played during a somewhat unorthodox trial at which Sivell opted to defend himself, leaning on sovereign citizen concepts.
He told Judge Christopher Harding he had “put in a notice of subjugation”.
“I’m not here to plead or argue your honour. I’m here to settle matters, clear the accounts.”
“Subjugation” cropped up a number of times until Judge Harding suggested “let’s get subjugation out of the way”.
“It has nothing to do with the court’s jurisdiction … all that needs to be put to one side,” he said.
Referring to materials filed by Sivell, Judge Harding said “I don’t mean to be offensive but it’s legal gobbledegook”.

Also I love how police resources are being spent on investigating people who can’t buy a few hundred bucks of framing timber from Mitre 10 (come on bro, they even take Afterpay now) to build a gallows. It’s not like you need to build the full platform and a trapdoor, just use a chair.

Peters is a politician who swims with the electoral tide. Every election year he sees which way public sentiment is flowing and makes the appropriate noises to hoover up some these voters. He is very good at it and it keeps him in government a lot of the time. But he seems not to care about the broader effects of this strategy – and aligning himself with antivaxxers is a good example of that.

Unlike those who, on this site, posted support for the death of people opposed to a mRNA vaccine rushed to market before being adequately tested but nevertheless declared to be “safe and effective.” Or those who gleefully celebrated two failed assassination attempts on Donald Trump.
Even Trumps VP called him ‘Americas Hitler’ and we all know who celebrated the latter’s demise.
