Chris Bishop cites private sector spending for infrastructure funding and user-pays
The Infrastructure Minister wants more private sector financing, such as public-private partnerships (PPPs), to pay for major projects.
In a speech to Local Government New Zealand on Thursday night, Chris Bishopsaid he wanted Government grant funding to become a last resort for councils.
“My speech talks about some of the things we’ve been talking about as a Government for six months, and we’ve actually campaigned on – so making greater use of tolls, public private partnerships, things like value capture as well,” he told Morning Report on Friday.

In the Budget, National allocated just 2.9% increase to health services but inflation was 3.3% and population growth 2.6% while an ageing population adds more to costs.
National gave 2.9% for health but we needed 8% to stand still, is the electorate dumb enough to fall for National’s latest manufactured public service crisis to introduce more failed free market reforms?
The Minister says we can’t afford $1.4billion for health but we could borrow $14billion for tax cuts!

However I did note that Southern Cross lost millions on the health side of their business .So premiums will need to double at least in a short time before they go broke .Maybe thats why Luxon is selling his houses so he can buy those hospitals cheaply and turn them into apartments for the homeless .

I notice today that the government are going to underwrite new house builds for the private sector while no longer building or maintaining any public houses and ar changing a law by stealth that allows Ag to pollute already polluted water ways even further .
And here comes the privatisation of school land and buildings. And once that’s done the private owners will tell us the rugby field at the central city school is surplus to requirements and will be sold off for housing just to keep the rent the school has to pay to cover the interest that the new private owner borrowed to buy the school at a fire sale price.
Of course The Treaty Principles have to be revamped first so maori don’t get First Right of Purchase on any so called surplus govt land.

The time given to see a specialist is 300 days and then there is another undetermined wait for the surgery.
After paying tax for 60 odd years one would hope they could get help in their hour of need.
