Gaza Strip
Attacks: There are no safe places for the militarily-dominated population in Gaza, who find themselves subjected to airstrikes and other missile attacks on buildings, homes and many essentialfacilities, as well as constant gunfire and invasions by Israeli forces. The Israeli Navy continues to fire missiles, targeting facilities and buildings along the entire Gaza shoreline.
Victims: 71 more people killed in Gaza now bring the total number of deaths, since 7 October, to at least 40,405. With another 112 wounded, that figure has risen to over 93,468. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 125 and, of those injured, more than 290.

Freed Israeli captive, Noa Argamani, says she was wounded by Israel, not Hamas
Argamani denies reports that Palestinian fighters shaved her head and beat her during captivity, saying her injuries resulted from an Israeli strike. Noa Argamani, an Israeli woman freed from Hamas captivity in Gaza in June, said on Friday that her injuries were caused by an Israeli air strike during her rescue operation, not by a Hamas attack. Speaking to diplomats from G7 countries in Tokyo on Wednesday, Argamani detailed her ordeal after she was taken captive by Palestinian armed groups during the 7 October attack.
Contrary to some Israeli media reports, Argamani clarified that she was not beaten or had her hair shaved by Palestinian fighters. “I cannot ignore what happened here over the past 24 hours, taking my words out of context,” she wrote, referring to the Israeli media coverage of her Tokyo speech. “[Hamas members] did not hit me while I was in captivity, nor did they cut my hair; I was injured by the collapse of a wall caused by an [Israeli] Air Force pilot,” she added. “As a victim of 7 October, I refuse to be victimised once again by the media.”
Hospitals in Gaza left in the dark with no electricity, fuel or tools
Hospitals around the Gaza Strip have been left totally in the dark with no electricity, fuel or tools because of consistent Israeli bombing since 7 October. Many hospitals have now been rendered out of service, with doctors in the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia being forced to use the light from their phones to operate and get around. Many of the machines and devices used in hospitals can no longer be used because of the lack of electricity and fuel, the report adds. “I got to the hospital after suffering from kidney colic and there was no electricity or anything,” one man, named Ayman Zaqout, said. “I don’t know how the treatment will be done. May God help us,” he added.
Israeli forces have turned the designated “safe humanitarian zones” within the Gaza Strip into heaps of rubble and ashes, leaving only 9.5% of the territory as so-called “safe zones” for displaced civilians, the Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza said on Saturday. As of August 2024, the Israeli Army has reduced these “safe humanitarian zones” to a mere 35 square kilometres (13.5 square miles), or 9.5% of Gaza’s total area. This zone includes only about 3.5% of agricultural, service and commercial areas, further shrinking the spaces where civilians can seek refuge, the authorities said, detailing how Israeli forces systematically destroyed the “safe zones.”
ICC prosecutor insists the court has the power to issue warrants for Israeli leaders linked to Gaza
Dozens of countries, academics and rights groups have written to the ICC to either support or reject their probe into the Gaza war and 7 October. The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor on Friday called on judges to “urgently” rule on his request for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others linked to the Gaza war, saying the court has jurisdiction.
“It is settled law that the Court has jurisdiction in this situation,” Prosecutor Karim Khan wrote in a 49-page legal brief. Khan called on a panel of ICC pre–trial judges to “urgently render its decisions” on the requests he filed in May for warrants for Netanyahu, his Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, and three leaders of Hamas, two of whom have since been killed.
