Take the Military Boot camps National promised the rednecks, they don’t work but the Rednecks don’t care, they want people who scare them to suffer, no matter if that makes things worse, no matter the role of poverty, or past abuse or mental health.
The Rednecks want suffering, they don’t want well thought out social policy.

That’s what makes the latest revelations about National’s deeply flawed Military Boot Camps so funny, those tasked with actually doing it don’t want to touch it at all…
The Government’s newly launched “military-style academy” will have no military personnel working at the coalface with young offenders.
That’s despite Police Minister Mark Mitchell earlier claiming there would be a “heavy defence involvement” in the boot camp, which began in Palmerston North last Monday.
Mitchell said 30 New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) personnel were actively supporting the programme, ranging from “back-office” policy work through to delivering it “on the front line”.
But Minister for Children Karen Chhour said “there will be no New Zealand Defence Force staff working directly with the young people on the pilot”, Newstalk ZB reports.
The revelation is in response to a written question in Parliament, asking what qualifications were possessed by on-site NZDF staff to work with youth offenders.
…the NZDF aren’t going to give this the Military imagery National want because the NZDF are smart enough to know the difference between young people who want to join the military and damaged kids being sent there for punishment!
National needs the military association because the rednecks they are appealing to want the kids bashed at a Boot Camp, the Military are refusing point blank to give National this political cmamaflague.

So at these boot camps for children where they can’t force anyone to work, exercise or cooperate in any way – because you can’t physically assault them and the only punishment you have is psychological torture, plus they still have to feed, house safely and ensure a minimum standard of living and quite likely of a higher standard they’re use to.

Lol I was sent to one of these boot camp styled schools when I was expelled. It was an education in crime, fitness and sexually transmitted diseases.
All we ever learned about in class seemed to be health subjects which usually involved the dangers of drugs and unprotected sex. Everything can be fixed by press ups running and more press ups. I got very fit and learnt a lot about how to use drugs commit crimes and get away with it and all about sexuality transmitted diseases and infections. No education no goals no hope the staff clearly only thought the best future for us involved staying out of prison, not using dirty needles or overdosing and how not to get herpes.
