Watching the American Political class cheer and celebrate a war criminal like Netanyahu reminded everyone that America has enabled Israel’s ethnic cleansing war crime and that Israel remains the 51st State of America.
Netanyahu’s insane speech in Washington highlighted how utterly disconnected from the obscenity he has overseen.
Predictions are now of 186 000 Palestinians deaths, when you have killed that many human beings, some level of shame and disgust at what you have done should come through, not with Netanyahu.
I argued in January of last year that all the ingredients for a third intifada were in place after Netanyahu aligned with radical Zionists to form the most extreme right wing Government in Israel’s history.
This toxic Far Right Radical Zionist Government wanted to over rule their Judiciary to allow Zionist Settlers to illegally steal Palestinian land in the West Bank and make the lives of the over 7000 Palestinians prisoners held by Israel even more cruel and draconian.
The Abraham Accords sidelined Hamas and left them with desperate conditions and no hope for the future.
While Hamas has blood on their hands, so too does Netanyahu.
Jon Oliver’s Last Week Tonight did a special last year on Netanyahu and pointed out how many times over his corrupt time in power he and enflamed and enabled Hamas.
From the chants of “In blood and fire we will expel Rabin” that radicalised the assassination of Rabin that Netanyahu had championed to the huge donations of cash paid to Hamas to fuel inter-Palestinian blood feuds…
Netanyahu “has always been hard right”, Oliver emphasized, “but it’s worth taking a minute to underscore just how extreme his current government is”. In his most recent election, Netanyahu assembled the most rightwing government in Israel’s history, with a cabinet “stocked with extremists”. One top minister has said “there is no such thing as a Palestinian people” and advocated for a massive expansion of settlements – seizing Palestinian land – against international law.
And Netanyahu has covertly funded Hamas to play them off their more organized and legitimate rival, the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. “Netanyahu took the risk of betting that he could control Hamas, and use them to his own ends, and he was horribly wrong about that,” Oliver explained.
…blame corrupt Netanyahu as much as Hamas for this disproportionate war crime!
The most tormented irony in this latest regurgitation of sadism between Hamas and Israel is of course Israel helped enable Hamas into the force it is now!
BLOWBACK: HOW ISRAEL WENT FROM HELPING CREATE HAMAS TO BOMBING IT
Did you also know that Hamas — which is an Arabic acronym for “Islamic Resistance Movement” — would probably not exist today were it not for the Jewish state? That the Israelis helped turn a bunch of fringe Palestinian Islamists in the late 1970s into one of the world’s most notorious militant groups? That Hamas is blowback?
This isn’t a conspiracy theory. Listen to former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s. Segev later told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)
“The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”
“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists. “I … suggest focusing our efforts on finding ways to break up this monster before this reality jumps in our face,” he wrote.
They didn’t listen to him. And Hamas, as I explain in the fifth installment of my short film series for The Intercept on blowback, was the result. To be clear: First, the Israelis helped build up a militant strain of Palestinian political Islam, in the form of Hamas and its Muslim Brotherhood precursors; then, the Israelis switched tack and tried to bomb, besiege, and blockade it out of existence.
In the past decade alone, Israel has gone to war with Hamas three times — in 2009, 2012, and 2014 — killing around 2,500 Palestinian civilians in Gaza in the process. Meanwhile, Hamas has killed far more Israeli civilians than any secular Palestinian militant group. This is the human cost of blowback.
…Israeli tactics to fund the most radical and extremist groups to topple enemies is a game the Americans played with Al Qaeda and saw resources going to Osama Bin Laden to play the exact same role with the blowback of 9/11.
The problem with the brutal use of tactics like this is that it generates unforeseen blowback.
Hamas is one such unforeseen blowback.
Peace is our only option because the War Gods are interested only in the profit of blood loss, not the prevention of it.
These were the share prices of the war lords as violence exploded in the Middle East.
To paraphrase Gil Scott Heron, ‘they got folk out there working for war, we have to go to work for peace’.
Netanyahu is working for war and on the day he was manipulating America into expanding his war, Joe Biden who could do nothing to stop Netanyahu explained why he was standing down.
Much has been said about how great Joe was for leaving but the real question should be on the Democrats for allowing him to stay when the decline was so apparent.
Joe’s Presidency saw progress, you can’t claim it didn’t, but the response never secured the lives of the 135 million Americans living in poverty and out of that resentment Trump’s orange poison was allowed to manifest.
Joe’s Presidency will be forever stained by Israel’s war crime.
Can Kamal Harris over come that?
Democrats know that younger people are horrified by the violence in Gaza they are seeing on TicTok and the next generation of voters don’t care they get called ‘anti-semitic’ for criticising Israel’s illegal occupation of Gaza, the West Bank and the IDFs disproportionate military responses.
Kamala has to make some nod towards those voters demands against Israel or she loses the US Election because those same kids celebrating her for being a Brat will turn on her if she does the same acquiescence to Israeli lobbyists.
Its a tragedy that we think that the next cab off the rotten rank will somehow be different. Unfortunately, this thinking is what helps keep the illusion of democracy alive! When a political system serves up people of the calibre of Trump, Biden and now an unelected Harris to choose from, well, again, talk about a rotted system.
With a population of 333 million it is pretty extraordinary the options that are offered up.
It is one reason why I love MMP in NZ. I get that it isn’t perfect and that little parties end up with far too much influence, but I love the range of voices that are heard. Even parties that I’m not generally aligned with, will have some policies that I will support.
There it is again. Are you trying say to she was not elected as Vice President? Our deputy PMs were not elected in that capacity either.
Like last time, I don’t give two hoots about the VP role. Its all about the selection process or lack thereof that Harris underwent to become the Demz presidential candidate.
Usually I agree with you but going on your comment to Martyn regarding calling people brother and sister along with this you seem to major in minors sometimes. I see that A O is referring to Harris never having won a primary to run for president and not a reflection on her initial election as vise president.
When it comes to Israel the Don, Kamala and the whole of Congress are interchangeable. All bought and paid for by the Israel lobby. Any sane system would see this as corruption and a challenge to sovereignty. If Russia or China do it it’s very bad but if Israel does it it’s OK.
Well Harris has a Jewish husband who is pro Palestine. Trump has a Jewish son in law who is pro real estate. I think I know who is the lesser evil.
The language may change, but little else. It is what happens after the election that matters, not the words said to win votes on the election trail. Obama was meant to be a break from Bush, but ended up running with Biden and selecting Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State. Not exactly doves.
Only hope the USA has is Dr Jill Stein.
The Establishment are working hard out to block her anyway they can .
Even to the point of refusing to release campaign funds she is entitled too by law.
Opposing her registration to be on the ballot in some states etc.
All she needs is 26% of the votes to win.
Then she has the electoral College to overcome.
The two legacy parties know young america hates their guts.
The only war criminals here are the brutal, sadistic terrorist group, Hamas, as confirmed by our gov’t and numerous others. Hamas started the conflict by targeting innocent Israeli citizens and taking hostages illegally. Israel, the US’s vital ally, is fighting an existential war against a genocidal foe funded by terrorist puppeteer, Iran.
Vote Trump end the forever wars
I doubt it. He will be no different.
“Predictions are now of 186 000 Palestinians deaths:”
This is hardly surprising when ‘excess’ deaths are taken into account, given the devastation wrought to the place. Deaths of course are not just caused by bombs and bullets, but through the destruction of civilian infrastructure required for the maintenance of health and lifte.
Even if history did start on October 7th and all the Israeli propaganda is true (of course it is not), what has happened is a mass atrocity against an essentially defenceless civilian population.
The fact that we indirectly support it through our government being part of the alliance enabling this horrific slaughter is a moral disgrace.
Anyone who says they love children, love animals, it’s all bullshit if we condone what is happening. That we are all excited by a ‘person of color’ possibly being elected and that is more important than a mass atrocity we in the West bear responsibility for shows how fucked up things are.
Apartheid Israel also helped Jihadi groups like ‘Al Nusra front’ and other alphabet soup terrorist factions in its clandestine war against Syria. Timber Sycamore report exposes this support for ISIS groups by western & regional powers to help overthrow Bashar Al Assad Syrian regime. New Zealand under JK NATS govt helped fund hundreds of thousands to these groups under the umbrella of fighting terrorism.

According to Caleb Maupin in his biography of Harris she has been groomed by Israel from early in her career . If so dont expect any decency from her leadership .
Even radical Chris Hedges is willing to vote for Kamala if she just does the minimum of stopping sending arms to Israel! It’s in her court, not the humanists. If I was a Yank, that’d be my price. Instead Shapiro is the most likely VP. Dems stink to death of donors as it is.
