The ruling breaks the fundamental cornerstone of why people settled in the USA in the first place.
No person is above the law.
It must breach the constitution?
The ruling was simply saying what has always been the truth, that the POTUS has limited immunity for official acts done while in office. Despite Sotomayor’s head exploding (and she sounded unhinged), it just acknowledges something that has always been there in practice. Perhaps now that the SCOTUS has made this ruling, it can be clarified in the light of day.
As Mr Carran has correctly pointed out, the recent SCOTUS ruling has changed US law not one iota.
In practice, for over 150 years, since the Civil War, American Presidents have enjoyed limited immunity for official acts pertaining to that office. Providing such acts are within the constitution, they are legal. That immunity has been specifically excluded for acts outside that limited scope.
No amount of blather or bluster can prove otherwise.
Trump doesn’t get immunity for the pay offs, because (a) they were before he was elected, and (b) they weren’t official.
He doesn’t get immunity for the documents case, because (a) it happened after he lost, and (b) it wasn’t official.
He doesn’t get immunity for the Jan 6 charges for the same reasons.
What it does mean is that theoretically, Biden can declare Trump a “clear and present danger to USA” and have him arrested, even executed by Seal Team 6 – lawfully!
Theoretically, Biden could declare that SCOTUS has exceeded its constitutional powers, and sack certain members and replace them.
Theoretically, Biden could lawfully revoke all future immunity for all offices in the US executive, unless approved by Congress in full session.
But he won’t do any of these things, because he’s too honourable and honest. Pity, because I think the rest of the world who depends on the USA to protect us from the likes of would be dictators like Putin, need a ruthless bastard in the White House.
Resentment or not “It’s the economy, stupid”. Trump ‘promises’ to bring back jobs from China and close the border to labour competition. It’s the elites that sold the jobs to China and who welcome the lower labour costs thousands of illegal immigrants per day bring. Is Trump selling cool aid?

Bullshit. Any evidence relative to his planning the insurrection and his maneuvering in setting up a fraudulent scheme to undermine the State results and manufacture fake electors will now be inadmissible in court because or if it occurred while he held office.
He cannot be tried for the crimes he committed in perverting the course of justice in the Mueller investigation.
The list goes on.
SCOTUS has given all future presidents free rein to be despots unanswerable to the rule of law.
The US system of government has been effectively upturned by this corrupted and dishonest Supreme Court.
The ruling will not stand and will be gone within a decade or we’ll see a hellscape in the US.
