What you are not being told about gas and oil in NZ is that there is no gas.

All the gas that can be drilled and looked for has been drilled and looked for.

The oil that is around NZ is also so deep that oil would n need to be over $200 per barrel for it to be profitable to drill that deep.

If we had $200 a barrel oil we would be in far worse trouble than needing oil drilled.

Allowing gas and oil exploration is a virtue signal without any virtue.

  1. I have been saying this for a long time now .
    Those greedy pricks would have been pumping us dry years ago if there was this imaginary massive reserve.
    The sad thing is Dr PORK is expecting us taxpayers to cover the set up cost along withe clean up cost when the arseholes walk away as they did with Tamarind .The put them selves into bankruptcy and buggered off .Would that be the case if there was so much oil and gas there? NO .

  2. Can you provide chapter and verse? Would companies really want to drill if there’s no gas left? How could this be known?

  3. Hard to believe Jones is a great orator given, I guess, there’s not a lot of spoken words in his choice of film. There is one film that comes to mind however and it featured Charlton Heston…Planet of the Apes. That’s where this government is taking us. Damning us, damning us all to hell.

It was because the margins didn’t make sense for the market. That stroker of a conman Shane Jones supposedly investigating what they can do. Signaling to a boneheaded virtue.
