Latest Poll highlights Government has managed to become as popular as puberty blockers at a MAGA Rally

The latest Taxpayer’s Union Poll follows the TVNZ and Talbot Poll that showed the electorate turning away in disgust from this hard right racist climate denying beneficiary bashing Government.

Even adding in the Roy Morgan Poll showed this trend…

…so the right have been cheering the latest Taxpayer’s Union Poll as some sort of hope that the electorate haven’t been turned off by the venal interests of National/ACT and NZF implementing policy for their rich donors.

I’m afraid their cheering is a tad over cooked.

Labour are up and NZ First is flirting with the 5% threshold.

Taxpayers Union actually shows the exact same slow down the other polls have shown.

This only backs up the broader trend which is that in barely 5 months this hard right racist climate denying beneficiary bashing Government have become as popular as puberty blockers at a MAGA Rally.

Once people see the pittance they are getting as a tax cut, they will turn even harder on this Government.

  1. Any middle or lower income worker could see the pittance of National’s tax cuts. They have a tax cut calculator on their website. According to that National’s tax cuts would save me $50 per fortnight. Not exactly life changing.

    • Do you still think you will get the piddling $50 bucks you mentioned. I wouldn’t be holding my breath.
It will be cancelled out by price increases such as car rego, RUC, and any other charges she can bring in while not calling them a tax.

    • Well, Nicola Williams thinks a $ 20.00 pw tax cut is (quote: ” not to be sniffed at” how condescending can one be ?. This government is a dog, how much societal damage can they and will do before.they are thrown out on their arse. They are so out of touch with a large sector of NZers.

  2. Nothing really happening in the latest poll except tribal left picking red instead of green after yet another Green MP with a borderline personality.

LUXON: Hello, how are you “number Three”? Care to join me at Bellamy’s?
SEYMOUR: Sure thing. Here’s an updated menu. For today’s main course there is, rat kebab, rat goulash, and rat of the day.
    LUXON: I don’t understand.
SEYMOUR: I had my Atlas Network people go over the numbers, and they said that a rat based agrarian livestock national heard, is far more efficient. Rats are easier to manage, have a higher breeding rate, lower cost inputs, and smaller carbon footprint.
LUXON: I guess if it’s for austerity, then I’ll have to go along with it. On second thoughts, I’ll probably just head home, and have a meal there.
SEYMOUR: Sorry, but my accountants decided that living in a house, is not evidence based. We’ve run the numbers several times, and houses just don’t make sense, so from now on, you can live in a tree. If it was good enough for our ancestors, then it’s good enough for us. And trees grow everywhere, so there will be cost savings galore.
LUXON: I guess I can’t argue with that either. But if we go back to living in trees, then surely we no longer need to give a $2.8 billion tax break to landlords.
SEYMOUR: Dunno, we never factored that into our calculations. But the good news is that my accountants worked out a way for finance minister Nicorette Willicide, to be able to give a tax cut, 3 times greater than what was previously proposed.
LUXON: Wonderful. Finally, some good news at last. But how is that possible?
SEYMOUR: Well, instead of borrowing between $15 and $30 billion, to fund $16 billion in tax cuts. All you have to do, is get her to borrow $45 to $60 billion, and then she can fund $48 billion in tax cuts. It’s simple maths really. It’s just so obvious.
LUXON: But that’s the oposite of balancing the books. Borrowing to fund tax cuts sounds completely ludicrous, in this current environment of high interest rates and increasing govt bond yields, which will end up costing $20 billion in interest to repay. Liz Truss tried it, when interest rates were low, and look what happened to her. The interest bill will be crippling to future generations. We just can’t treat them like this, as well as undermining the treaty and undermining environmental protections, and going full blast on fossil fuels and mining.
It’s like sneaking into your child’s bedroom, and stealing from their piggybank, and then putting toxic waste into their lunchbox. Voters will long remember the pain we’re inflicting, with our slash and burn chainsaw austerity for Ministries, that provide essential services that hold society together, and lavishing money onto landlords, and new jail cells at the Waikeria supermax mega prison, while giving ourselves with a massive pay increase,,,no wonder our poll numbers are nosediving.
Next you’ll be telling me, that we can ease the cost of living, by instructing everyone to get a biro and add another zero onto their banknotes, so $5 becomes $50, etc.
    SEYMOUR: You read my mind!

    • The fact is their borrowing will remain higher paying more interest than needed for nothing. They are not building anything, they have just upped fees, public transport etc to the extent lower and middle income are worse off.

Of course we haven’t seen the budget yet. We are about to see a C grade magician in a pant suit pulling a dead rat out of a hat for 95% of the country to swallow while the donors laugh at the idiot masses.
