The Iran attacking Israel turning point, NZDF warns of killing civilians and the rank hypocrisy of America criticising Russian violence yet ignoring Israeli violence

Nothing highlights the hypocrisy of the West’s criticism of Iran’s missile attack against Israel quite like this exchange…

…exactly!

Iran was retaliating to Israel’s bombing of a diplomatic building in Syria, and that retaliation was well telegraphed to allow Israel and her allies to shoot down all the missiles and drones, but what it shows is that Israel is utterly vulnerable to Iran now and that their ethnic cleaning war crime has consequences.

The question now is will Netanyahu, who desperately needs to keep the ongoing ethnic cleansing war crimes going to avoid accountability, while he escalate against Iran or finally back down?

As that question gets mulled over, the NZDF have quietly told kids that we are likely to kill civilians in our undefined war in Yemen…

Govt was warned Yemeni civilians could be killed during NZ deployment to Red Sea

The government was warned Yemeni civilians could be killed in an operation in which New Zealand is involved to protect shipping in the Red Sea.

The coalition announced in January that the Defence Force would be sending a team of six to take part in the United States-led strikes against the Houthis and provide maritime security in the area.

In the three months since they deployed, members of the team have been involved in destroying Houthi helicopters, underground weapon storage facilities and air defence systems.

The government decided to send a team to join the group after the US chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles Q. Brown Jr, requested a meeting with New Zealand Chief of Defence Air Marshal Kevin Short on 6 January.

The US was seeking “military contributions to a new coalition” that would conduct “kinetic operations” – in other words, military action with lethal force against Houthi targets.

… oh yay, the war Winston and Judith signed us up to will kill civilians.

How righteous you feeling Kiwis?

let’s not forget the rank hypocrisy between our response to Russia and Israel…

…it’s amazing how quick we in the West are to criticise Russia’a war crimes, criticise Russia targeting media or Russia using food as a weapon, yet when Israel does all those things on an industrial scale against the Palestinians we are no where near as critical.

Our hypocrisy in the West in terms of Russia vs Israel is staggering and ugly and down right evil.

Rather than demanding peace and a ceasefire, we are getting sucked into the vortex of America’s latest Military Industrial Complex profit chasing adventure.

  1. Some of the initial coverage on Sunday didn’t seem to point out the ‘attacks’ ( laughable using the word when you give 72 hours notice of what will happen) were actually in retaliation.

This is exactly what that corrupt bastard Netanyahu wants. Let’s all stop talking about Gaza and asking questions.

  2. The zionist attacks that NZDF war criminals have been involved in have already murdered numerous civilians, as well as the heroic freedom fighters who are carrying out a humanitarian intervention against the zionist genocide against the people of the land they squat on.

I look forward to everyone involved being held to account. If we’re talking about six guys, that’s not people who were forced into taking those orders. These traitors wanted to help murder brown people for zionism. Shades of Operation Burnham.

  3. It seems a little like theatre to me. Having said that the escalation of bombing someone’s embassy or whatever is itself an escalation. But the response? The Iranians gave plenty of notice, they must have known that the Israeli countermeasures were going to account for almost all their 300 or so missiles, so basically all they were doing was costing Israel money. And I guarantee they got thousands of other missiles they could have sent in an effort to overwhelm the Israeli defences, but didn’t. Like I said – theatre.

  4. The media is covering the massacre in Gaza but they are missing something. There is some surprise in what we are seeing because it is seems to be clearly genocide. It can be explained by knowing what the military people in Israel said. On the 9th of October last year the Israeli Minister of Defence, Yoav Gallant, said “Israel is imposing a complete siege on Gaza. No electricity, no food, no water, no fuel. Everything closed. We are fighting human animals. We are acting accordingly. We will destroy everything.” This was said on camera so it is clear this was what was meant. On the 10th of Oct Israeli troops were told “… released all the constraints.” And “We will eliminate everything. We will reach all places.” The 12th of October every restriction was removed giving the military total impunity. A general said “To make the siege effective we have to prevent others from giving assistance to Gaza.” That explains why journalists and humanitarian workers are targeted. The word, Barbaric, will be replaced by Zionist for the worst of the worst.

    • Whatever has been said about Genghis Khan, he never did anything on the scale of what the zionists are doing to Palestine, after having their satraps attack Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan.

  5. NZ Government: “Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Foreign Minister Winston Peters have condemned Iran’s shocking and illegal strikes against Israel”.
However the people of Aotearoa know (as Luxon and Peters know) that the strikes were perfectly legal under international law, and that far from being shocking, they give peace-loving people around the world confidence that the genocide being carried out by Israel and the US, with New Zealand’s support, will be punished, and that a system of deterrence is now in place.

  6. Good to see Iran front up–yes theatre as Martyn says, but it puts the IDF butchers and their US funders on notice. As much as I do not like Iran’s authoritarian theocracy one little bit they did have the guts to pay back for their diplomatic position and senior people in Syria being targeted and demonstrate solidarity for Palestine.

For people that love US Imperialism or espouse the USA as some kind of peak democracy, a great example of “What aboutism” this week has to be ex president Trump in Court–oh the irony if Stormy Daniels takes him down!

  8. The priority of the Netanyahu war cabinet is the destruction of Hamas.
The last thing the Netanyahu regime wants is the release of the hostages for fear of them talking of what they have witnessed.
The IDF and the Netanyahu war cabinet have made it clear they are not interested in gaining the return of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

The Israeli hostages are not just hostages, they are witnesses.
Which is why Israel does not want them.
