The New Zealand government scales new heights of hypocrisy in condemning Iran’s attack on Israel

The New Zealand government has scaled new heights of hypocrisy in condemning today’s Iranian attack on Israel but refusing to condemn Israel’s blatant incitement to a wider Middle East war with its missile attack on the Iranian Consulate in Syria two week which killed several Iranian leaders.

Israel’s attack on Iran produced not a whimper from the Prime Minister or Minister of Foreign Affairs but both have lined up to condemn Iran’s response.

It is apartheid Israel which wants a wider regional conflict; it is apartheid Israel which launched a deadly provocative attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus; it is apartheid Israel which is stoking the fire for a regional war. It is apartheid Israel New Zealand should be condemning rather than Iran.

Hypocrisy has been the hallmark of the new government’s approach to the Middle East – refusing to condemn anything Israel has done and pretending the fault lies elsewhere.

Meanwhile Israel is continuing, in full view of humanity, to use starvation as a weapon of war against Palestinians in Gaza. And only humbug platitudes appealing for more aid to Palestinians.

Our government has joined us to the side of racism and genocide.

  1. Winston and Luxon are incapable of reasoning for themselves without being handpuppets for their zionist blackmailers.

  2. The current government is piss weak and only interested in crawling up the arse of USA .
Isreal should not be getting weapons of any sort from anywhere and the USA needs to demand a complete cease fire and withdrawal of all Israelis from Gazza and the west bank settlements .Any Israelis living in west bank who wish to remain should do so under palastinian law and order .All troops and check points should be gone by lunch time .What right does Israel have to think they are in charge of another country .
Now they have destroyed Gazza they should return the same amount of land to the west bank and rehome the 6 million refugees as well so that Palistine becomes one large country again

    • And all the religious minorities should return so they can be discriminated, threatened and forced out by Islamist Palestinians as they have been from the areas the PA and Hamas currently rule?

  3. Thanks for telling it like it is, “there are none so blind as those who will not see” is a common saying & it perfectly describes Israel & its apologists who refuse to recognise that there are 2 sides to this conflict. They take a biased view of history & refuse to understand that Israel is the invader.

  4. Biden tells Israel to “take the win”.

“You got a win. Take the win,” Biden told Netanyahu, according to a White House official.

Will Netanyahu listen to Biden, or will the Israeli Prime Minister and his war cabinet launch a full scale war against Iran?

The US says they will stay out of it.

Iran has been supplying Russia with large numbers of Shaheed drones that Russia has used to attack Ukraine, Iran will be expecting a quid pro quo from the Russians at any Israeli attack on their territory.

Biden’s hands off approach is a green light for Putin to supply Iran with the precision missiles it needs to counter any Israeli escalation.

The death toll on both sides from such a conflict will dwarf Hamas attack on October 7. A high price to pay for both peoples for their leader’s egos.

  5. Iran quite rightly invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter after the attack on their embassy, the right of self defence, and did so with forcefulness but restraint with no human casualties. We can conclude that Iran has a deeper respect for international law and human life than the West.

  6. Iran has demonstrated a capability which should give the US and Israel (and the Realm of New Zealand) reason to pause and change track. Publicly the US and Israel are saying that the Iranian attack was a failure. Yet privately, their military analysts are in a state of shock. They know that Iran warned them of the time and place of the attacks, they know that Iran was not intending to cause massive damage or loss of life, but simply to show very clearly, beyond a shadow of doubt, that Iranian missiles and drones are capable of overwhelming US and Israeli defences, including the fabled Iron Dome. So the US needs to decide whether it will allow Israel to take it into an unwinnable Middle Eastern, and New Zealand will have to decide if it will follow the US into another abject military defeat on an even greater scale than Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and Ukraine. The Anglo-Saxon states, all of them led by idiots, have once again misapprehended their power to prevail in a series of wars against the bulk of humanity.
