Julian Assange exposed the war crimes the West didn’t want you to see,
He pioneered a new online activism that actually challenged and threatened world powers.
Now internet activism is a trending TicTok dance and endlessly screaming at each other that Barbie was a feminist film, but once upon a time Julian Assange used the internet to you know, actually threaten the abuse of military industrial complex violence.
His detainment on trumped up charges equates to torture and the powers that be have used him as an example to anyone else who exposes their war crimes.
Assange is the very best of us, his detainment is an obscenity.

We have actions we can take – this from New Zealanders For Julian Assange…
It was very encouraging to see that : “GENEVA (6 February 2024) – The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Alice Jill Edwards, today urged the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) to halt the possible extradition of Julian Assange to the United States of America.”
New Zealanders For Julian Assange is an informal community ( 461 members on our facebook group ) of people concerned about the ongoing persecution of the multi-award-winning Australian publisher / editor-in-chief of Wikileaks Julian Assange AND the implications and ‘chilling effect’ it is already having on our journalists’ willingness to conduct investigations into, and to report on, especially matters of National Security – but also into any issue that might expose corruption or other abuses or excesses of power for fear of ‘intimidation and reprisals‘ as described by the U.N. and for which ourProtected Disclosures (Protection Of Whistleblowers ) Act 2022 was passed.
New Zealand – as a trading nation , derives considerable benefit from our being ranked by Transparency International as one of the least corrupt – most transparent countries with which to do business.
The case of Julian Assange is absolutely pivotal to the future of transparent and accountable democratic governance systems.
To do nothing to try to stop Julian Assange‘s extradition to the United States where he is threatened with a 175 year sentence in solitary confinement in reprisal for having published evidence of serious breaches of the Geneva Conventions by U.S. military personnel sends the message that we no longer believe that our systems of governance and business need to be transparent or accountable.
This is our LAST CHANCE to save our transparent and accountable democracy.
Please write to the Minister Of Foreign Affairs to support our call for an urgent Diplomatic Protest to the U.S.A. and to U.K. and to support the U.N.’s call that Julian Assange NOT be extradited to the .U.S.

To be silent is to help those who commit war crimes.

“Assange is the very best of us, his detainment is an obscenity.”
Again, what does it say about today’s world that the very best of us, certainly the very best from a media standpoint, is being as maltreated as he is/has been with every likelihood of this only getting worse should he be extradited to the USA. Politicians everywhere, turn a blind eye, the general public, largely ignorant.
Politicians are captured, (mainstream) media is captured – how long before we are caged in too!
And all that adoration of Navalny going on it is appalling. Of course he was murdered we know that Putin gets rid of any threat. We also know that he was the US’s preferred man, that says a great deal. He was extremely right wing and would undoubtedly when reforming the country under the US’s watch make conditions worse for Russians.
Assange should be sent home to Australia and I heard the radio yesterday there are further talks to this effect.
How come Julian faces 175 years for reporting war crimes but Israelis can upload war crimes on social media and are not charged? Should be the other way round. Justice for Julian and the victims of atrocities.
The complete foreign control of the UK makes it very likely that Assange will be dragged off to the American torture dungeons, sadly. Just like the only yank who went to prison over the CIA’s torture program was the guy,
who exposed it, John Kiriakou.
I can’t think of a better reason to cut all ties and cooperation of any kind with the Yankee scum. Assange exposed more American crimes than any other journalist.
The only thing he did wrong, as far as I’m concerned, is not doing what he is commonly (falsely) accused of- disclosing the names of people who cooperated with Americans to subvert their own nations, so they could get their just desserts. Some moron from the Guardian did that by accident in an attempt to show off. Funny how that guy isn’t facing any charges.
