Cam Wallace steps down as MediaWorks CEO
MediaWorks chief executive Cam Wallace has stepped down after two years in the job to take up a new undisclosed role mid-year.
Wendy Palmer would step in as interim chief executive during a search for a permanent successor, a note from MediaWorks chairman Wayne Stevenson said to staff on Monday morning.
Stevenson said Wallace would leave “in the coming weeks”.

Today FM killed Cam Wallace!
The disastrous decision to kill MagicTalk off because of a woke cancel culture mob generated by David Farriar and The Spinoff which resulted in the creation of Today FM has seen Today FM plunge to the lowest Talkback Radio ratings in NZ Broadcasting History and was a mammoth miscalculation that has set ZB up for total market dominance.
This market dominance and slump in ratings has seen Mediaworks have to slash jobs.
Cam was the major defender of Today FMs appalling programming decisions and with him gone it must just be a matter of time before Today FM has a major revamp and shake up because the Talkradio format is so important for ratings and after the fuck ups at ZB recently, Today FM must be gaining?
Surely?
There are ways to make Today FM work, however ego’s within MediaWorks refused to acknowledge they got it wrong and just kept ploughing ahead with a vision that was blind.
I’d be surprised if there weren’t more resignations this week.
Watching a social media Lynch mob led by The Spinoff and David Farrier spook you into stupid programming decisions that kill the brand off is another example of go woke, go broke.

OMG – I was listening to media watch yesterday, such a good program. But hearing those goons from ZB and their right wing shit is just appalling.

Because a blind person was offended she used “blindly” as implying someone couldn’t see something:

I am blind, and I am far from blasé about this situation. It seems to me that “blindly” adds nothing at all to the point that you were making. ”
Is that not exactly what the word means?
