Dear Nanaia – Israeli Ambassador must be called in over killing of Shireen Abu Akleh

The murder of Al Jazeera’s indomitable Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is an abomination in an occupied territory that is stained with abominations!

I am a passionate viewer of Al Jazeera and the protection of journalists covering war zones is essential to ensure war crimes and abuse of powers are witnessed and exposed.

To kill those who are exposing such violence is an ugly perversion that is corruption of the values we as a democracy stand for and have spilled blood over.

The NZ Israeli Ambassador must be called in to be told of NZs dismay that a Journalist covering abusive Israeli actions has been killed and that the importance of an independent inquiry into this repellent murder is essential.

NZ should now look to push for some type of statement via the UN.

It is unacceptable to have journalists killed covering abuses of power.

Shireen Abu Akleh deserved better than that.

Mahuta is too busy yapping about ‘Russian disinformation’ (a deranged and paranoid pathology of the West) after being told what to say from her owners in UK/US, the two biggest peddlers of lies in the history of mankind. I trust information coming from Russian Federation ministries, I do not trust the racist, psychologically manipulative narrative coming from New Zealand officials.

    • While I admire you for not trusting the US/UK you have to be somewhat naive to be trusting the Russians. The first casualty is said to be the truth so that is something we need to be aware of from all information sources.

    I guess 5 Eyes members back Israel right or wrong. The fact is this Apartheid State (as UN, Amnesty and hundreds of Palestine solidarity groups have declared it) would not last 5 minutes but for the unstinting financial and arms support from US Imperialism.

    • Na, Israel would do OK without the US support – the original principle of which was to provide equivalent support to Israel, Egypt and Jordan as part of peace-making leverage. It’s the same amount it was decades ago and is of less significance.

  16. Seems that the Palestinians are not allowing the Israeli’s to also have access to the bullet that killed Shireen Abu Akleh re the investigation into her death – if correct that certainly raises questions around who killed her and why?
