Medicinal cannabis company gets $13m from Govt to develop blueprint for industry
A medicinal cannabis company in Marlborough has received one of the largest grants ever provided to primary industry, which will see it develop a growing handbook for other medicinal cannabis companies.
Primary Industries Minister Damien O’Connor visited Puro at their site in Kēkerengū, on the South Marlborough coast, on Friday to announce the $13 million grant.
It represents a Government and industry partnership that will see New Zealand patients being able to access local and organically grown cannabis medicines manufactured in New Zealand.
So what you are saying is that Labour have fucked up the medicinal cannabis market so badly that they have to spend $13million in public funds to help others get through the mine field of regulations only billionaires can afford – thanks Labour!
This is a joke…
Cannabis: Auckland grandma becomes first to legally use dried cannabis flower to relief her pain
Sourced from Australia, the flower has less than 10 per cent THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) – which is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis – and was high in CBD (cannabidiol) which helped treat pain and lower anxiety.
…the reality is this…
Most medicinal cannabis users buy on the black market – report
Only 6 per cent of people who use cannabis medicinally are getting it legally, according to a Drug Foundation report.
This leaves about 250, 000 people who source medicinal cannabis on the black market.
…right after the referendum which showed almost a majority demanding cannabis law reform, Little killed off any cannabis reform and landed us instead with bullshit medicinal cannabis rules that only serve a billionaire while crushing the local medicinal cannabis industry.
Patients seeking medicinal cannabis now ARE WORSE OFF after Labour than before it!
Minister Little has the audacity to blame the industry which either suggests Andrew is either lying or grossly misinformed!
I am free anytime to explain to the Minister why he is wrong.
Labour have inadvertently set the medicinal cannabis industry up the way they have set the super market duopoly up. Labour have allowed the big pharma segment of the NZ market to write rules that exclude the smaller players which has led directly to the impasse we have now.
A framework that only the big pharma segment can pass through while fucking over medicinal cannabis patients as well as the wider industry.
Labour deserve nothing but contempt for their medicinal cannabis failure and if the Greens had any strategic brain they would make a legal market part of their agreement to form a government in 2023.

“…. ARE WORSE OFF after Labour than before it!”
When are you going to accept that this is a recurring theme under this Labour Government?
Doh!
Why don’t they throw Andrew Little at the Wall of Shame as punishment. No-one will notice any difference and he will just get up and walk away as Labour have perfected this art of dainty dancing with everything. It’s the in-side of politics today.
Labour or their minions seem to be setting it up as a major business with large injections of money, but perhaps promising good returns to them as the alcohol business now does. This is while alcohol is enabled to degrade society by impoverishing further by its siren call of good times, big talk, and febrile community, taking down people already impoverished. Its ubiquity extended to 24 hours availability once didn’t it. We are lambs to the slaughter with this money-mad and new-fad mad politico blot on what was once our landscape.
Have you ever seen such a smug face . He heads a department that has literally given peanuts to staff .
They should just decriminalise cannabis up to an ounce for personal use and make medicinal options meet minimum standards by copying one of the better state structures in the US and then just get out of the way.
Its such a shame Labour have made a shambles of everything. They have made it inevitable that the elitists will win for the next 20 years. What a wasted opportunity. What a shameless Nat cuckoo Jacinda turned out to be.
There is nothing inadvertent here its all very deliberate to appease their partner only ie it looks like a duck but dont quack! very good article but the whole corruption goes way deeper ….. ie ihemp has been around talked about since 1988 and authorized trials commenced in 2001 all good until they gave it “inadvertently” to MEDICINES CONTROl who set about disabling it very successfully, in 2008 and the whole mess just got worse n worse. Im surprised participants did not hear our angst and saw the red flags ie this is exactly as you will be treated.
A Magnificent FARCE! mack
