US strikes ‘Iranian-backed militant’ site in Syria: Pentagon
The US military launched an airstrike on facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran-backed militia Thursday, in retaliation for recent rocket attacks on US troop locations in Iraq, the Pentagon said.
“At President Biden’s direction, US military forces earlier this evening conducted airstrikes against infrastructure utilized by Iranian-backed militant groups in eastern Syria,” said spokesman John Kirby in a statement.
When Joe Biden won, I apologised in advance to the first country he’d bomb – good to see the Military Industrial Complex back in charge.
Biden has just signalled he is wanting to renegotiate with Iran over the nuclear deal so this bombing is either a negotiating tactic or it’s to provide cover from the American public who hate Iran.
Either way, it’s the good old fashioned American use of bombs as a means to broker what they want.

President Biden’s Cabinet has been praised by the media for its diversity, citing the fact that the new Secretary for Defence, Lloyd Austin, is an African-American…end of story.
The public hasn’t been told that Austin, the last US commanding general of US ‘Iraq New Dawn’ forces, then commander of CENTCOM, retired from the military in 2016 to join the board of RAYTHEON, one of the world’s largest military corporations.
Now he is back, in charge of the American military.
‘Revolving doors’ is the phrase used when someone goes from the US Government , to a Corporation that feeds lavishly off Government revenues , then back to the Government again.
A US Cabinet of REAL diversity, would be one with a diversity of world-views, including a concern for global humanity.
Instead of encircling China with military bases while complaining that China wants to enlarge its own military, (Press Feb 12) world leadership is needed to promote diplomacy , peace and conflict studies, disarmament.
75 years after Hiroshima, nuclear war is still a possibility, the Doomsday Clock is closer to midnight than ever before.
