It’s 30 seances since Simon Bridges became Leader and Judith Collins has already started plotting his downfall.

I’m double crossing everyone except Matthew Hooton.
When National decide Leadership they release white smoke from Parliamentary chimney, slaughter a thousand virgins and steal some Maori land.

More gutter journalism from the NZ Herald as they try to find out who the new leader will be.

So Natz has finally decided who shall be its next fuhrer.
Collins will be spitting hell, fire and brimstone, sharpening the pitchforks ready for Bridges. Bring it on.
Bennett for deputy again? Looking even better for Labour for the next three terms.
It wont be long before they will be voting for another leader (a poll or two) then we can start mocking them just like they did to the Labs nothing like a bit of tit for tat aye Martyn

Obviously making a play for the Maori Vote, and both have West Auckland roots.
Are you implying that us Westies do nothing but root??
I most strenuously object to the implication that the National Party is rooted because of their leaders coming from The West.
They are trying to top bill english who reckoned he learned fluency in Māori by listening to his colleagues (but then failed to be able to count to ten in Māori) when put on the spot. Wanker.
He barely speaks Te Reo, he better brush up on that, if he wants to appeal to the wider Maori vote, I think. Does Riches even identify much with that part of his background?
Bridges not Riches, of course, but he combines both in his name and personality and private and political affairs.
more like the head of a rabble or a mob.
Looks like Frank was correct. 🙂
Bridges will be at the hungi singing “my ten bridges”
He is a clone of Joyce and loves tar seal and trucks and is captured by the oil companies who also likes trucks and not rail as trucks use us to 12 times the diesel to move each tonne one kilometer meaning that they sell more oil/diesel for much more profit with Bridges and his Joyce team.
All bought by big oil folks.
Simon and Paula look so similar in that photograph that they could almost be siblings.
….steal some Maori land… why stop there when you can steal an entire country and sell it off to your mates and cohorts.
National will be govt in 2020, if not before. Go Simon, take it to the media-addicted Adern, rip the CoL govt to shreds, show up them for being weak and ineffective. No trees, no houses, and education destroyed.
Yes Simon do what Miles say’s divide and conquer! Hold the phone, National have been doing that for the last 9, well forever.
@ Miles … A correction. The NZ PM’s surname is Ardern, not Adern.
I was hoping Collins would get it. Once she (i.e. Collins) loses the election (which she would have) to Jacinda, she would not have been in any sort of position for leadership contention going forward (once that chalice is poisoned, it’s generally poisoned for good – Bill English is a very rare exception). My fear now is that in the 2023/2026 election Collins will be right there. Ready. Waiting. And she’ll have a real chance for leasership.
Interesting times. The National Party’s big-time supporters will privately despise these two:
– for being part Maori
– for having broad Kiwi accents
But if Bridges and Bennett deliver the voters they won’t care – all that matters is that the money keeps rolling in
That’s so factually incorrect it’s laughable. The big time national party supporters will despise them as they are some sort of labour leadership lite team. look how well that went for labour when national were in government? David Cunliffe, the money-but-not man. David Shearer, the international big note if you are a lefty.
Simon is supposedly young and telegenic and that’s why he was made leader. But Adern is more, so bridges is losing already and won’t last long.
They’ve got the slogan for the 2020 election:
Simon Bridges will lead us to Riches.
What a joke, that guy is not going to last, he may be an attack dog, but will prove to lack leadership skills, i.e. struggle to keep the caucus together.
they elected the town clown no bridges
The Bridges to Nowhere is/are now leading the Nats. It is getting funnier, I think.
Not quite Bridges to Nowhere.
Actually, Bridges is laughing all the way to the bank, with pockets stuffed with booty, and ‘deals’ for looting and polluting under negotiation whilst conning the idiots that support them -as per standard National practice.
Truth is there is no one left at present , and Bridges is only the interim leader. Bennett will only worsen the situation if she opens her mouth for too long , – so expect her to be quite silent and feigning being ‘calm , dignified and demure’ during this period.
Its all an act.
Collins? – would be a blessing in disguise to finally polarize and sink National,… it would isolate and bring out into the open not only the serious divisions in the National party but also the originators of the Dirty Politics era, – Slater and Lusk. Something that would cause ructions within the party
But the real planners, … those in the background ie such as the New Zealand Initiative etc and their associates , … will be casting around , as well as bankrolling the coming smear campaigns.
They will take the tack that not a lot is being done to upset the carefully constructed 3 decades old neo liberal edifice at present , therefore Bridges is a type of ‘holding tank’… we should expect a ‘crisis’ , – some sort of trade , economic crisis to be manufactured shortly before they put their man / woman forward…
This is how these people roll , … they did it just before the Lange govt came to power and also again when Bolger was elected.
Its all here :

Simon Bridges the new leader of the National party has today admitted on RNZ interview today with Guyon Espiner that he feels National were light on some issues!!!! Housing and environment specifically he said.
http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/political/351421/new-national-leader-says-there-is-a-housing-crisis-in-nz
What a fucking joke this clown is as he closed Osborne rail for using many more trucks through the slip prone Waioeka Gorge now so more trucks will wreck the roads all the way to Tauranga!!!!!
What a stupid clown he has shown already.
Simon Bridges was the Minister in the last National Government that allowed oil drilling (by the most controversial oil drilling company globally ‘Anadarko’ (of the BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill fame).
So Bridges now is risking our own sensitive conservation land to become another toxic global known hazard on NZ conservation land, just for a few lousy dollars ‘permit licence’ to operate oil prospecting here, and now he says National was a bit light on environmental issues??????
He is pathetic as a disgrace to his iwi.
what Iwi Cleangreen I have never heard him acknowledge his Maori side much until he has become the gnats leader. Now all of a sudden he is one of us, really! he is like a light switch and he is a Maori when it suits him.
His parties polices of privatization , selling assets, more prisons to put his people in, not enough housing, drilling , fracking, immigration, to name a few are not what our people want or need these policies are hurting Maori and many of our Pakeha whanau. Remember most of us are Pakeha to and we are just as proud of our Scottish ,English, Irish heritage etc as we are our Maori one. Its not about how much Maori blood you have its about being true to yourself you are either Maori or your not.
