  1. NOT the mainstream media:

‘Zero evidence’ for claims Russia hacked DNC, says NSA whistleblower (VIDEO)

    https://www.rt.com/usa/409269-binney-cia-dnc-hack-meeting/

“NSA whistleblower William Binney spoke to RT about his recent meeting with CIA director Mike Pompeo, where they discussed accusations that Russia meddled in 2016 US presidential election by hacking the Democrats.

The meeting discussed the analysis by Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) that the DNC documents were leaked in an ‘inside job,’ Binney told RT. Analysis of data transfer simply does not support the claim the documents were hacked by Russian agents, as leaders of the US intelligence community claimed in a January report.

“It was very clear it was a local download, because of the speeds and all,” Binney said, explaining how his colleagues set up a test between a data center in New Jersey and another in the UK, and could not reproduce the download that took place on July 5, 2016.

The approximately 16 GB of data was downloaded in two bursts, totaling 87 seconds, with a 12-minute pause between them.

“It had to be done locally,” Binney told RT.

The data logs and the speed test were the only concrete evidence available for examination, he pointed out. “Everything else is speculation, and agenda- and emotionally-driven assertions.”…

    • CIA/NSA inside job as we always suspected.

US were trying to undermine Russia since Obama’s rule so we should not be surprised as we still remember the US involvement also in breaking up Yugoslavia durine the 1990’s dont we all?

    • Hillary kept state secretes on a personal server in her bathroom. That’s actually a federal offence that every one with top level clearance are explicitly made aware of. But she didn’t go to prison like she should have. #ridiculous.

  2. A sensible analysis:

‘Coverage of sexual harassment claims carelessly blurs lines between minor misconduct and real abuse’ by Danielle Ryan

    https://www.rt.com/op-edge/409199-sexual-harassment-misconduct-flirtation/

“It is undeniably a great thing that abusers like Harvey Weinstein are finally receiving their comeuppance, however overdue it may be. But in the aftermath of Weinstein’s downfall, we’re at risk of broadening the definition of sexual harassment too widely.

There is a vast difference between genuine sexual harassment, abuse or rape — and minor misconduct, flirting or otherwise inappropriate behavior in the workplace (or anywhere else). Yet, in recent weeks, the two have been dangerously conflated…

    • There is a vast difference between genuine sexual harassment, abuse or rape — and minor misconduct, flirting

When it is unwelcomed, there is no difference. None whatsoever. As someone who experienced harassment when I was 17, I can tell you that your artificial differentiation is meaningless.

  3. there is a difference…Trump’s locker-room talk is not the same as Weinstein’s serial predation

serial harassment, rape , also intimidation and spying and blackmail over 30 years by a predator boss like Weinstein with the power to destroy womens’ careers is a wee bit different from an off-colour remark by a tipsey colleague at a staff party

…one is devastating , the other is annoying and possibly offensive

…did you even read the article?

  4. New Zealand is a Pacific Island Country, we need to reclaim that heritage.

Pacific leaders call for coal mining to be shut down to save island nations from effects of climate change

The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), which includes Pacific Ocean countries like Tuvalu and Palau, said global warming was already harming their people.

The AOSIS said it wanted a moratorium on new coal mines, but was realistic about its chances of convincing Australia to give up its lucrative fossil fuel assets.

“We’re simply seeking for the rights of small island states to survive,” he said.

“We feel our security is compromised; survival of the people of the Pacific is compromised.”

The leaders of nations like Tuvalu, the Cook Islands, Palau and Nauru held a closed session for the first time ahead of this week’s Pacific Islands Forum, which includes large countries like Australia.

    Considering what is at stake.

This is not an unreasonable request from our Pacific Island friends and neighbours.

Aotearoa/New Zealand is the biggest country in Polynesia.

Aotearoa/New Zealand is the only Pacific Island nation in the Polynesian Triangle to mine coal.

New Zealanders need to stop ignoring the concerns of their Pacific Island Brothers and Sisters.

In my opinion, Aotearoa/New Zealand needs to set an example to the rest of the world, and in particular Australia, and in solidarity with the Pacific Island nations, at the very least, stop opening up new coal mines.

To air the concerns of our Pacific Island neighbours, I am calling on the New Zealand government to host a region wide summit on climate change.
